ABD Intake Manifold 1.8t

Featured Replies

no difference with the small turbo on but its then future proofed as this will be a good mod once bigger turbo's are fitted

Is Rob going over 400bhp then? Has anyone tried to re-work the standard inlet?

Okay I am officially an idiot.

They do fit. Ignore everything.

Not sure what I was playing at yesterday - too long hunched over an engine bay sent me loopy or something!

:D

very nice rob now get rid of them silly earth cable and the bay will look ace buddy

Do the earth cakes not help? Just i was going to do it to mine. Also do you use the standard throttle body on the abd intake, or do you use an R32?

I like the silly earth cables :)

looks good mate B)

Very nice Rob

Did you paint the TB and rocker cover yourself, or are they powdercoated? They look really good.

It would make it look cleaner without the earth cables, and with the DV back in the normal place, but it's your engine and you know what you want.

Do you still have room for the catch can, because it's tight enough already without the FMIC pipework, bigger manifold and DV relocation hose getting in the way! Oh hangon, I've just spotted it behind the battery! My CC is no more....

Get the FMIC pipework painted in that crackle black paint and it will look the dogs!

This is my idea of a tasty 1.8T engine bay:

Nom nom nom

I have a way to go to get to what I want in the bay :)

Painted the black bits myself with rattle cans. Not a bad finish but it's not perfect close up.

Agreed on the FMIC pipes - they definitely need something :)

How come you took your CC off, Bodge?

Just finished putting the engine back together. Couple of things still to tidy up but it starts - yay!

I am in SWMBO's serious bad books for spending so much time on it.

Just went for a quick test drive. Nothing exploded :D

Feels good. I'm sure it has more of a growl to the engine note and it definitely feels a little better over 4500rpm.

Need a dyno day now :)
