New Octavia Diesel Orders Build Dates

Before I placed my order, I was told by 3 different dealers, that once the vehicle arrives at the dealership, it must be registered within 14 days, in order to comply with Skoda UK's VAT free offer. So if your wife's car is build week 4, and delivery to dealer is usually about 3 - 4 weeks later, you should be able to have it on an 11 plate. Just ask your dealer, if you don't ask you don't get, I am sure they will allow it so long as they comply with Skoda UK's guide lines per registering within 14 days.

That's good to know, will definitely try that! Nice one!

In my defence i did say - Not confirmed , along with info was from my local dealer ( pity SUK cant get their stories straight still ) emoticon-0105-wink.gifemoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

See my post DELIVERY WOES ! I ordered 1.6 TDI SE Hatch on 25/9 and my build date has moved around and now dissapered off of the system. I have been told the car must be registered within 10 days of arriving at the dealer. Also that there is a compensation scheme Skoda are offering which equates to £150 fir an 18 week or more order then if it goes to 25 weeks its £300

Just returning to this forum after a break of a couple of years, previously owned an Octavia Estate but then had to go into a company car scheme where Skoda was not an option. However that has just changed and Skoda is now an option so I'm back. I'm looking to place an immediate order for a new car.

Took a trip into dealers today wanting to compare the Octavia and Superb Estate Estate, currently running a Volvo V70 2.0D, the obvious choice is the Superb. However finances, rentals, car tax, running costs etc are steering me towards another Octavia. I asked the dealer about delivery and was given a very guarded answer, basically preparing me for a six month wait. the comments he made about delivery which were very much in keeping with the comments I'm reading here. He suggested that one of the reasons for problems was that manufacturing capacity was being directed to supplying a very strong demand in China!

Also he said that my preference for diesel engine & DSG gearbox would be a key factor in causing a long lead time. My Volvo has to be returned at the end of this month so it looks like I'm in for a long spell with a loan car! Guess this thread will be keeping my attention for now.

UPDATE - So finally picked up my car on Saturday, and it doesn't disappoint! Picked up the wife's Fabia the Saturday before as well. Driveway now looks like a Skoda forecourt emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

UPDATE - My Octy ordered Oct 4 and built during week 7. It's now at the dealers and I pick it up Weds or Thurs this week.

When did you order? My (scout) has just gone a month the other way....not happy.

I posted in another thread, but basically I ordered a 2.0Tdi Octavia Elegance Estate in the first week of March and was told September..

Then I get an email last Friday telling me it's being built this week and to expect it in the first week of May!

I'm obviously pleased about the huge improvement in leadtime (hopefully it's true) but how can they pull in the ETA so soon after initially telling me 6 months?

It's nothing special except for metallic and bluetooth options.

I spoke to the dealer today regarding my Scout order (1st week in Dec) and was told that in the past couple of weeks that it went from week 20 to 27, disappeared off the system twice came back at week 25 and this morning changed to week 21. due to all this he is hopeful that it should be there or thereabouts.....however I cant help wondering if this is to fob me off from asking for my loan car!

I ordered 1.6CR Tdi Elegance Hatchback with DSG during the last week of January, it was built week 13, and has been sitting at Emden since the 2nd April. I was expecting (and told to expect) at least May onwards.

Just ordered a octy vrs estate cr170 with options, Race Blue, Silver roof rails, Rear parking sensors, Sunset glass, Maxidot. Christ knows how long this will take lol. any guesses?

Ordered my 4x4 mid December, had been told build at end of May for delivery in June but confirmed Build for April now.

Just ordered a diesel Scout and dealer suggesting 35 weeks to delivery - Expecting it to come in Xmas wrapping paper! http://ww1.briskoda.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Better get my snow tyres ready then if thats the case.lol, it all seems silly to me as to why there is such a long waiting time cos i am sure some potential customers will turn around and say no to the waiting times. You would think Skoda would be pushing like mad to fullfil peoples requirements in the current climate?

I'm currently waiting on the Octavia vRS Diesel Estate I ordered on the 17/10/10. Originally I was told to expect it mid to late March '11, then I was update mid December with build week 51 - happy days.

I phoned up my dealer on Monday just gone to check on my order and he said there was now no build date on the system for my car! He thought it was the computer having a "hissy fit" and would phone me back on Wednesday when he was next in. True to his word he called me back today (Wednesday), but with bad news...

He told me he'd contacted Skoda directly to find out why there was no build date on my car and they told him they have removed all the build dates on diesel orders and will be providing new build dates within 2 weeks! Apparently this is due to such high demand of the diesel engines. WTF!!

Has anyone else heard the same? I'm now concerned that when I do get a new build week (in the next two weeks) they are going to say it's 10 - 16 weeks wait again (I'm speculating here, thinking worse case scenario).

Is anyone else waiting on a diesel Skoda order and has checked their build date/week recently? Does this even sound right? Please help lay my fears to rest!

Had a diesel Scout on order since late November 2010 still no word of a build date and Skoda UK Customer Services Manager told me on the phone after I had written to them, they have no direct contact with the factory to find anything out, so how your salesman contacted Skoda Direct is beyond me, my dealer can't!! Sounds like he spinning you a line unfortunately!!

just got an e-mail from my dealer today saying there is a build date of 23rd May 2011 for my Scout DSG- if that becomes firm that will be a mid June delivery 28/29 weeks from order. Almost 7 months!!

Our local dealers have an online system for checking orders. When SWMBO had a Fabia, they were able to keep an eye on it & kept us notified. A quick Google search for "track skoda order" brought up the following link Click Here

Strangely enough it the dealer her old Fabia came from! So guess some dealers know how to keep their customers informed!

Not sure if or how it works, guess you have to have a Skoda on order :'( & not sure if it works for orders from other dealers, but...

You were lucky - I ordered a diesel Scout mid Nov 2010 and finally today had some good news from the SUK Customer Services! "I have received confirmation from the Factory that your vehicle will be built in the week commencing the 18th July 2011".
