Fairly easy. This link is useful http://www.octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/coloured-grille

One thing to remember, order a new Skoda badge. I brought one that ended up to small which is on the car at them moment but will be replaced by the right size badge (85mm diameter) at the weekend when I collect it from Skoda in Redditch.

Really pleased with the outcome, roll on the Eibachs, rear spoiler and tints............and maybe, just maybe the 345mm brake upgrade although I'm not sure about this yet.

Er, aren't you forgetting the remap, a must have mod for the vRS.

Didn't think there was one for a DSG CR yet?

I can understand your doubts...........you need 350s really ;)

Honestly Bryan, what are you compensating for?

You do need an extra 5mm when you drive a hearse for extra stopping power.

After caning it a bit the standard setup performed better than I expected but I'm still drawn by the sheer size and visuals of the S3/R32/Cupra. Always felt the red calipers look a bit lost on a car the size of the vRS. More concerned about servicing and having some Skoda oik not having a clue about checking them.

Out of interest does the vRS have a brake pad alert for changing them?

Remaps been widely available for CR for a while now - see my signature below

I know that but I have a DSG CR

You can't beat stiff braking power

Did you buy it, or bring it from somewhere, i'm confused ?

I brought a OEM chrome surround from Skoda then had it sprayed then fitted it. You won't be able to reuse the existing Skoda badge as it's moulded into the chrome grill so I brought what I thought was the correct sized badge but it wasn't. I have since ordered the correct badge

I think what he's getting at is that you 'bought' it not 'brought' it! :p

Fair enough there's always a spelling twrat somewhere.....

How much was the surround from Skoda Moley? Didn't know you could buy it on its own, and not as part of the whole grille assembly.

and I think you're right about the CR & DSG combo for remap purposes.

The code you need is :- 1Z0 853 661 A - Chrome Moulding Description Number - 739. Was about £45 I think from memory

I thought Ben at Shark could remap the new CR, I can't see why the DSG would make any difference?! :S

I was going to ask this..

Why would having a DSG equipped car stop you getting a remap?

The only reason I could think is if it was a 7 speed dry clutch DSG, which is rated at a far lower bhp/torque figure, but seeing as the CR vRS is the 6 speed wet clutch, the same as on Edition 30 Golfs, some of which are running 350+ bhp, I can't see the problem.

I'm sure someone will have the definative answer though.

Small but effective mod. Cannot bear the 'Octavia' font on the new car so it had to go. Dont mind the vRS badge but that may go in time too. A visit to Autosport in Birmingham and the Brembo stand tomorrow may prove more expensive mod though

While I agree about the Octavia badge, I now think the vRS badge sitting there looks 'unbalanced'.

I always tend to debadge completely, leaving just the Skoda roundel. I like the clean look
