my new baby sitting on eibachs

IMO a rear ARB is even better option. Definitely required IMO. On all my last cars ive modded the ARBs have been the best mod ive done. less understeer, less roll, and zero change in ride quality. Also only a half hour job to fit so cheap labour on now geometry alignment required (unless you fit a front bar as well)

u need to adjust geometry if u fit an rarb? what happens if u dont

mistake. was meant to say no geometry required

I was told to get the geometry checked after a couple of weeks, had it done now and made the car feel a lot more stable and a lot more pointy.

Would think your vRS is very low now - mines only just lower than a stock vRS as it is!

As mentioned earlier in the thread, why is the front 30mm and the rear only 20mm? Just doesn't look right!

It still looks fairly high to me. Just lowing springs dont offer enough drop IMO. I saved for a little longer and went for some eibach coilovers. Better ride quality and hight than standard and no worries about the dampeners packing in early. Although I loose the warrenty from Seat for that side of things I get one from Eibach on the parts so its not too bad.

Loving the alloys they are very smart indeed!

The only issue (and I presume its the same on the VRS) is that the engine undertray is very low and can limit how low you can actaully take the car at the front.

You can see in the image below how close the undertray is to the floor. Check how it is on the VRS to see if you get any more clearance

The cupra has a much stiffer suspension setup as standard when compared to the vRS, as such that could be why you have experienced better ride comfort.

I would 100% agree with this. It was far to stiff as standard. I went from a Fabia VRS (mk1) which wallowed about to a mk4 Ibiza Cupra TDI which nearly broke my spine, to the Bocanegra with coilovers and rear ARB which is pretty much spot on.

Ether way when the Prostreet's become available for the VRS mk2 I highly recommend them, just check ground clearance at the front.

Like the styling of the cupra/bocanegra aside from the 'trapezoidal' exhaust. When you look closely you can see two tiny pea-shooters poking out from inside.... why did they do that?! :giggle: The exhaust trim on the FR looks better.... :wonder:

Agreed again, I like the diffuser and exhaust on the new VRS as well, the DLR's are cool too.

You can get a nice mini cooper S style exhaust for the Boc/Cupra and then black out the aluminium trapzoid. It looks really smart. I'm not spending any more cash on my car at the moment .

Okay I'm old and don't mod my cars but I love the look and can appreciate the road holding benefits from stiffer lower suspension. I also understand the enjoyment you guys get from modding your vehicles. But on this suspension thing. Skoda make the Vrs as their 'sporty' version of the Fabia. I'ts made in much less quantity (I imagine) than the rest of the range and costs quite a bit more, so why don't Skoda put on the lowest most sporty suspension in the first place. As I see it, you guys are saying Skoda have got the suspension wrong but surely their Tech department would know the best combinations? I'm not having a pop here, just wondering why someone would buy a new car then feel the need to change its geometry?. Hope it's a fair question.

The exhaust on the Ibiza is only a bit of trim, there are two round pipes up the middle.

Techie

Whilst your loking at this thread, is the downpipe for the vRS and cupra the same? i have some sweet plans in line if they are

Bet you are well tempted with that tho!!

They keep the ride height high as it is more practical for 80% of users. People who are more performance orientated don’t mind the drawback of being more cautious over bumps etc.

Also I'd wager that KW (Shocks) and Eibach (Springs), know far more about performance suspension than Skoda.

I’m very tempted to mod my car more but I have to think every £1 I spend in the UK is one less beer I can have on the beach for the next 7 months :D

seems strange why 30mm front and 20mm rear?

looks like its running nose heavy and as if it needs that extra 10mm on the back....

reminds me of people who have cruddy french hatches from the 90's who lower the front but leave the back as they can't be jiggered with the torsion bar :|

hello there your post made me have a closer look at the spring set my car has on ,i checked code on box it was 10.79.006.10.22

then had a look at eibach site the code for the car is 10.79.006.09.22 ,i have spoken to eibach and the set of springs on my car are for the estate version oppsss the front springs are the same but the rear ones are different hence its stance ,its all sorted now nice people at eibach sending the proper rear springs and sorting the second re fit ment out ,will post some more pics of the car when it has the new springs on .i was no wiser i just ordered a set of springs for a fabia vrs 1.4 tsi they came went in the boot then got fitted .cheers for your observation it stills looks good but it should sit a little flatter lol . :D

Nice looking car, where were the photos taken?

Yeah a nice squat rear will look much better. Look forward to the pics. So Eibach payed for the 2nd fitting? Thats really good of them!

Looks really well. The suspension should drop a little more when the spring settle

Bringing up an old thread! but the stance on that is pretty nice! I like the ready to go look of the lower front.

the things with the normal 40-40 front and back, sometimes makes the car look a little dumpy on the rear, I appreciate the squat look but I also dont like a heavy looking back end!

Leon :)

Souds like estate rear springs might fit the hatch. This souds like what I need, the fron to be slightly lower than the back.
