1K to spend but what to do?

Featured Replies

Well after some saving I now have about 1k to spend on the furby... Already have the brakes sorted... But what would you do next Suspension? Quite fancy a milltek exhaust system but that would almost eat my 1k if I went all out :(

Anywho opinions welcome :)

Personally, I'd recommend a set of Eibach springs and dampers and then maybe throw in a strut brace or two :D With the change, you can also buy a tuning box off eBay ;)

Depends what you want really! :D

Worth the money???

Every penny, only problems (and this is serious) the front bumper comes close to the floor under heavy braking  especially if you down bumpy country lanes, maybe i should go for suspension then :D

You can do it for a lot cheaper though

Eibach dampers too? ;) You'd need springs though. :D

Has'nt someone just got the springs alone on here?

Graeme (yellow fab vrs) has just the lowering springs and is very happy with them apparently. I think it does do the job well, but obviously you get that bit extra if you go the whole hog!

D

I've got the springs alone on mine - certainly hardened up the ride without making it too harsh.

The level has dropped, but i haven't grounded it yet under braking or going down country lanes - and I live in Cornwall - the home of country lanes!

The standard dampers seem to be just fine - I wouldn't want to stiffen it up any more as it may become too undrivable in the wet on said country lanes.

Roughly how much were they inc fitting?

Suspension and Remap probably the way to go.

If I remember correctly, the springs were about 130ish. Fitting is probably a couple of hours labour at a local garage. I was able to do them myself, which helped. ;)

I can let you know what the Miltek is like after next Friday too. :D

How do you find the springs alone?

Sorry to sound like a first timer, but how much is your miltek setting you back?

Cheers :D

Graeme,

where are you getting the Milltec from? I'd be interested in a bit of a review after you get it - I'm looking at getting one soon so the more info the better!

I'm crap at making quick decisions....

Dave

I've got just the eibach springs along with the standard wheels and they cost me

yeah you as you use 5.1 and it needs to be changed often as it absorbs lots of moisture making them almost useless better bet is super dot 4
