no worries people use it as they get told its the best and yes its very good in very high temperatures and when its changed after every race :)

that yellow one looks much lower at the back

bit more on fluid from a friend who builds engines

Dot 5.1 is far more hydroscopic than Dot 3 and 4 fluids, meaning it absorbs atmospheric moisture faster and lowers the boiling point to below that of DOT 4's normal dry boiling temps. So if you do run it, it needs bleeding very often to keep the benefits of 5.1 fluid.......which is pratically pointless as your not going to exceed the boiling point of it on the road, so its money in the bin.

Dot 4 synthetic fluids have a dry boiling point almost as high as dot5.1, and iirc SRF which is the most raved about fluid, is based on dot4....but it can still boil, its not gauranteed not to.

Remember that mine has settled a bit since then, and my picture was taken from an angle much closer to the ground than the other 2......

stop polishing your tyres then ya tart :P ;):D

It was the the lard type rubbish that dealers like to plaster them with on the day you collect :P

I would however strongly suggest fitting the seat sport strut brace as that

The lower front strut also makes a big difference.

Damn! Best add that to my shopping list then  Which one did you go for and how easy was it to fit? :D

Cost of fitting powerful brakes....

Hmmmm - can't get onto Dubmeister web site and Google doesn't have it cached either! :( Is it just me? :)

Chris

hmm chavyboys having the same problem. I can get onto the main page. Doesn't look good does it.

Out of interest (i cant really mod my car  ) does just replacing the standard brake fluid for Dot 4 make a noticeable difference? I only ask as most people seem to do it in combination with uprated pads and i have to stay with originals, at least until they wear out.

I cant comment on the difference the hoses make, some people say they are already good enough, others suggest replacing them. I'd guess that uprated hoses give a better feel on the pedal?

Why not replace the pads? I cant really see why you'd need to tell anyone about that ;)

Its just that i share the car with my dad and he doesnt understand modding :thumbdwn: I was amazed he let me buy a strut brace (must have caught him on a good day) which i got fitted last week and is brilliant. I know some people say it makes body roll more noticeable, but i havent found this at all and it seems to corner a lot flatter than before.

Good luck with spending your

Tell me about it... my dads the same, although to be honest, if I wanted to mod it I would and he couldnt stop me :D

I definitely want a strut brace now... I guess the chassis must flex pretty badly as standard to make so much difference.

The strut bar is ace. I have found the best improvement when going through chicane type corners, its as if you are leaning on the suspension on one side of the car around the first corner and then as you switch the forces go across the strut brace to the other side of the car. I know this sounds a bit far fetched...but i can feel it! It basically feels more connected and like everything is working in harmony, allowing more satisfying cornering moments with your furby ;)

It also understeers a bit later, i guess because of the better tyre contact patch.

Buy it

Sorry to sound dumb but I thought strut braces were supposed to reduce the amount of body roll making the car feel stiffer and stuck to the road. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's why I was looking at a strut brace as I've noticed there is quite alot of body roll as I'm from Milton Keynes the town of roundabouts and it's nothing like my clio which was alot more controlled round corners.

Cheers

You're right! Unfortunately, one brace between the tops of the front two towers is not going to significantly reduce body roll (IMHO ;)) so you'd need upper and lower, front and back. If body roll is the biggest enemy, you're probably looking at uprated/thicker ARBs to reduce that significantly. :D

Chris

It's not my biggest enemy I'm sure I'd get used to it, but strut braces all round I think will reduce it enough. You could have just said you're just imagining things and saved me money :P

I can see holes growing in my pockets already and I've only owned the car 2 days :D

Down the slope I go.

Cheers

You're just imagining it ;):P:rofl: I opted for the springs and dampers rather than strut braces all round as I found the car dived and lifted under braking and acceleration and got a bit bouncy when pushing on, but then mine is only a "mundane" Fabia ;) It reduced body roll quite significantly, and made the car much more driveable but the trouble is, once you get used to it, you know it can be improved further!

I suspect thanks to the bad influence of all the people on Briskoda, I shall be doing the struts this year :rofl:

Chris

I'll probably get round to doing the suspension at a later date, more than likely when I'm out of debt and have a well paid job ;) thats the only problem with being in Uni, never have money left over.

I'll get there slowly but surely.

Cheers

You can't be doing that bad mate - a fabia vrs whilst at uni??? I had nothing until my fourth year and then only an old golf with (no kidding) over 230k on the clock...

youth of today... I don't know... :D

Looking back, I should have fitted shocks too. They are very stiff, though I do have upper and lower strut braces too which doesn't help. uprated shocks should help calm things down a little and give a slightly better ride.

The Miltek is about 580 fitted. Travelling all the way to JBS next Friday to get it done. :D

Well I wanted a new car coz all my used cars I've had have broken down at one time or another so have had to spend more than I wanted to on each. I thought the sooner I buy it the sooner it's paid off. By the time I'm 23 I'll have paid it off and be able to spend all my expendible income on the car :D
