Leather retrim, Autoleathers anyone used them?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Looking at getting a set of custom fit leather covers for my 2006 Fabia VRS.

Found these guys

Autoleathers.co.uk

It apears you send them your seat covers and £300 and 2 weeks later they send you replacement leather covers. Also available is leatherette for around £150. They also fit for £200 extra

OPTION 1.

Send us the cloth interior after you have stripped it from your car seats. We will then make your

leather seat covers an exact replica in the colour of your choice. Please be aware that this is

not a kit.The finished product that we send you is bespoke replica of what you have sent us.

We will then send you the retrims back to you with hog rings and a detailed fitting instruction.

OPTION 2

IIf you feel you are not up to a DIY job , you can then send or drop the seats to us or bring your

car in for a day for us to remove the cloth trim and replace it with universal covers for you to

drive away. You would then be required to come back to us after 2 weeks to have the leathers

fitted .

You May choose any colour and design with choice of piping and stitching at the edges

Prices are based according to the seats of the car. Please select one of the options

below which best suits your car.

So anyone used them or have experience with them?

Cheers

autoleather is a bit of a misnomer, a lot of the prices quoted on their site are for the covers in good old PU leatherette (not real leather). For a quality good real leather interior look at seat surgeons, used by many on here with good results. Seat surgeons also do the door cards included in the cost which is not much more than the leather prices quoted on the autoleather site.

My 07 Octavia Vrs TDi RD is booked in at seat surgeons in York for a Full Leather re-trim

Seats,headrests,door cards and arm rest

Thanks for the replys guys

I would love to get a full leather refit but the wallet wont go that far. TBH I was going to use loose covers for when the kids are in the car but that means I have to keep taking them on and off or keeping them on all the time. Keeping them on would mean you loose the look of the car and get a sweaty arse..

So I was looking for a decent set of covers that were fitted and would stay on all the time. Fake leather and plastic covers would just make you sweat on long journeys so I was searching for fabric / leather or fabric centres with leather look edges.

Looked at these on Ebay

So for around £300 for fitted Leather covers, (faux leather £150) and fitting them myself to save £200 I thought they would be worth a look.

Anyone else used these guys or seen any of their work?

Cheers

I know from experience that you'll struggle with the rear seat backs, as they seem to be stitched on! Everything else is pretty easy once you've got hold of the spline drive bit to get the front seats out. Did mine in stages (straight swap for nearly-new originals, though), but it's a weekend job time-wise. On that basis 200 quid isn't too bad!
