What exactly does a major service on the 1.8 vRS include??

Just been quoted £300 inc. brake fluid change.

But can get 4 spark plugs for £20, a pollen filter for £15, air filter for £10, oil and filter change at National tyres for £35 and I am guessing a brake fluid change for under £50 at a dealer if need be. Is there anything I am missing other than a green stamp in the book for my additional £170??

Brake fluid change is probably more than £50 at a main dealer.

It includes a very expensive inspection that doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know. I asked if, after doing the fault code scan that was on the list, they would tell me if a certain code had shown up. The answer was basically no, unless you pay extra.

Do it DIY if youre planning on keeping the car and keep a detailed record. Save a stack of cash.

Thats what i'm doing, loads cheaper, if i need owt major doing i'll go to a trusted mechanic
