crap dealers

Forgive me if I'm being stupid but if they owed you all this money why didn't you deduct it from the balance you owed when you collected the car?

This whole posting is driving me crazy, I still don't know whether I'm coming or going.

I have read it through again and again and it still just doesn't make sense.

Wouldn't it be interesting to hear from the dealer involved in this saga, he must be tearing his hair out

and ready to agree to any thing, I know I would.

just think if vw had bought them out instead, we could all be driving them!

:giggle:

Don't they make the Fiat 500 and Ford Ka now?

Two sides to every story, sounds like some misunderstanding possibly on the purchasers part. Dropped his motor off but it ended up being a BIG deposit he wasnt reckoning on. The cash he paid upfront is still in said dealers bank account and he is still awaiting a cheque.

Blimey, I thought they would be well gone, fair play to them.

How complicated can it really be?

Man buys car, delivery delay means that the complicated system of deposits and refunds doesn't go smoothly, frustration ensues.

If the OP was to re-write it with proper grammar and spelling it would all be a lot easier!

Yes but to all intents looking at his sig, he already has his new car??

Which takes me back to my point of if they owed him money, and he has now collected his car, why did he not deduct this from the balance? As far as I can see the system of deposits, part exs and tax refunds is straightforward, I think the point that is confusing people is they can't understand why the OP can seemingly pay several thousand pounds too much for a car and walk away without getting a cheque for the monies he says he is owed on the day.

My head hurts. On a different note that is the dealer that offered me £11000 last month for a Scout that was ready to retail for a minimum of £18000. I politely told them to Foxtrot Oscar and sold it privately. By any interpretation, they are greedy ba*****s

Its not really greedy though is it, its offering what it was worth to them at that moment in time. There was no obligation for you to accept and you werent actually buying anything from them at the time as you were after a BMW when their original offer was sought if I read your other post correct. Why should they offer you £15K if they dont particularly want/need/desire extra stock in this time of year (in a recession). Did you buy the car from them in the first place ? If there is no relationship there I'm really struggling to get the beef here.

I cant imagine paying the daily interest on a few million quids worth of unsold used car stock is cheap for starters.
