How do you tell the firmware version on Columbus unit?

Featured Replies

Me again...

Love this car soooo much!

Just one question though... how do you find out what the installed firmware version is on a Columbus satnav unit? Been through all the menus and can't seem to find it.

I'm probably on the latest as I have 7 digit postcode lookup and the aircon display is also enabled but would be interested to find out.

Cheers

Mike

if you have 7 digit postcode then you are on the latest version of the maps and firmware.

you cannot find out the installed version without the use of VCDS to either enable the hidden menu or interogate the columbus directly.

What do you mean by VCDS and how do you obtain them? I would like to upgrade to the 7 didgit postcode as well.

VCDS is a cable/adaptor connected to the cars computer and to a laptop.

It allows you to view configuration and change settings on the car like enable the hiden menu in the columbus.

I got a guy near me (in VAG website) to enable the hidden menu for me before I upgraded firmware.

Its the same unit as used in all VW / Audi /Seat / Skoda.

The unit is over £250.

So look on this site or post your location here and see if anyone in your locality has a VCDS and can help.
