Featured Replies

just came across this online thought it might be of interest to you tuners amongst us, got to say, im very interested in a 2.0 TSI at the minute myself!

Like the decals too

O M G

bet thats a handful to put the power down!

The engine says TSI on it, but the car has diesel power decals??? Saying that, 400 hp from a diesel would be pushing it.

Lose the decals and paint the wheels and mirros black, and I'd have one

Realistically though - mine with a stage 1 map is already borderline for traction in the wet/slippery conditions - with 600+ nm torque it would be a little silly, but still amusing none the less.

How does a GT30 compare with say, a K04?

The page does not mention chassis mods but its obviously not stock.. I wonder how it manages to put that power down..

I've seen this before somewhere? Isn't it a 4x4?

Underneath

Surely if its 4x4 there would be a propshaft running down the middle?

Strangest looking power curve ive ever seen.

Wheels

Not to mention driveshafts running to the rear wheels.

It's not 4x4, which makes it MENTAL.

A dyno queen?

I think Sir Edmund Hillary would appreciate it. :giggle:

So its stick your foot down.....wait.....wait.....then your tyres dissolve in a puff of black smoke?

Looks to be a petrol one, but I don't get why power is decreasing so much from 5500rpm onwards? A good petrol turbo should not have power tailing off to the redline like that. I am suspecting dyno trickery and this car is probably around 350hp tops. Its only got a GT30 turbo on it, not some kind of massive monster.

that is why i said strangest power curve ive seen.

big turbo cars make their power very high in the rev range, but take a while to build up.

330-360hp is k04 territory. 390hp is GT2871 territory. Gt30 turbos are good for 420hp on the TFSI. So i could believe the figures, however it looks lie as Devonutopia says, there dyno fudging going on, or the map is crap

for instance this Leon sport is running a GT2871 APR kit and makes its peak power @ 7k which is the norm.

srr390hp.jpg

the one in the first link is making its peak at 5.5k which is 100% not normal., especially for a GT30 turbo which should make its peak @ closer to 8k before it starts to run out of poof

I'm sorry, but it looks dreadful - the owner has NO taste what so ever. So it has power, but compared to a BMW M5 it looks foul.

Why do people have to do that to a good looking piece of engineering? Tune away and make it powerful - but for goodness sake make it look stylish - not chavvy and boy/girl (note the non-sexism here  ) racer :dull: .
