How often do you use full W.O.T?

Featured Replies

WOT probably once a journey, so twice a day, but only for a few seconds at a time.

Same here really for most of the time. It also depends on what kind of day I've had at work and the route home. Good day & no stress, little or no WOT. Annoying day, lots of WOT. Why have a vRS and then not use it?

not given the fabia any WOT for sometime (saving fuel etc) done it a few weeks ago in the middle lane.............3 lanes full off a soot cloud whoops! :giggle:

generally not that often maybe when I need to or if I'm bored

Is that why the KWs I bought off you a while back didn't last as long as I hoped? :D

Oops, sorry jase :S

Tho in my defense you knew my car had a very hard life!!!!!!!

You should have said something so we could have sorted some sort of compensation towards the refurb

Nah, tis OK. They lasted the 2 or 3 years they were on my motor, but clearly the hard life you subjected them to had done a little damage. :D Got new V2 now so hoping they last a bloody long time. :D

Good luck with the v2's, i'm just in the process of sorting some v1's for the golf i was originally thinking of v3's but realised i've spent that much on it it owes me too much to ever use on track so v3's would be wasted on it

All the time... to the limiter emoticon-0103-cool.gif

not that all you diseasal drivers would appreciate that though emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I live in the middle of knowhere and most of the times the roads are deserted so give it some WOT every now and then

Almost everyday. Once engine is up to temp of course. I drive about 6 miles to work and guarantee I'll have to overtake some only gomper doing 35 in a 60. Any clear road I'll use full throttle to get up to speed as fast a possible.

I can't remember the last time I drove more than a few miles and didn't find out how deep my carpet was :D

Umm 3 or 4 times a week if you had to travel on the a391 back home from work I doubt you would do any less it's ripe for going like stink!

Was there for a few months last winter remember, so can relate. ;)

 Every day! :p

I do the work trip in Semi Super Eco Granny mode. If I need more movement I'll just hold the gear with no more foot action until 3 - 4ish rather than change at 2-2.5ish.

However. On motorway trips where the traffic is doing that annoying thing off forming groups/pockets on all 3 lanes I'll quite often w.o.t. through and past them to put some space between me and them. Gotta love dropping into 4th at 50mph and booting it. There's nothing weirder than driving on an empty motorway with no lighting... and seeing this pack of lights appear behind you (or in front of you)... in all three lanes... it's like something out of mad max!

W.O.T on the Fabia is a funny old thing though... I find that if I don't do any for a long time the car will almost ignores it the first couple of times, lol, like it thinks I've made a mistake and didn't really mean full beans... then it'll get the message after a little progressive driving.

Is the the ECU learning, or just cobwebs?

I had an opportunity on a stretch of road this morning - 40 to 60 in 3rd gear.... Ummm, it did not go well. Combination of cold road, cold tyres and an engine getting nice cold air in for power, meant instant wheelspin on boost, ASR flashing, and me getting off the throttle asap and resuming pootle mode. Bring on summer! :D

Pretty much every time I go up a motorway slip road - provided its clear of course emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I can't stand people that mince up a slip road at 40 mph and wonder why joining the motorway is hard work emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Other than that, I hardly ever hit WOT, especially as my car cost me £74 to fill up earlier emoticon-0120-doh.gif
