GTI Interational is a once yearly event held at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, in Leicestershire.

With easy access to the A1, M1, A14 and other roads it really is a doddle to get to.

Held on a large, ex RAF airfield there is plenty to do on the day including;

  • Sprint - where two cars accelerate side-by-side against the clock, with electronic timing of their 0-60 times and quarter-mile elapsed time (ET).
  • Show 'n' Shine - On each day an award is made for Best of Show to the best cars showing in their class so get polishing!
  • Traders and Exhibitors

 - GTI International sees a great many of the country's top tuners, accessory specialists and spare parts merchants, offering a wide range of products and services, often at special discount prices. Bring your wallet!
  • Club Displays - Most of the country's top owners’ clubs and website groups are present at GTI International. There is also a competition for best club stand!
  • Camping - for the last two years GTI International has provided camping on site
  • Car Sales - are you planning on selling your Skoda? Get great exposure at GTI International's car sales area
  • Auto Jumble - a long time favourite of any car show-goer. Wierd and wonderful things can be had for your Octy, Fabia, Yeti, Superb and Roomie - who knows, those £50 alloys you buy may turn out to be rare split rims worth thousands! It's happened before!
  • Mobile Dyno - a great way to get your BHP/Torque measured on your Skoda, and you will find out if it really is a "brisk" Skoda. Dum Tish.
  • The Sound Off - ICE fanatics. This is the drag race for your system.
  • Volkswagen Dealer Display - Vindis VW have brought a whole range of their 2011 models along and they will be open to play about with, and they will also be going around the track. There will also be a sale of OEM spares and Merchandise, and no doubt freebies too
  • Kids - not leaving out the future VAG fans, there is plenty on the day for them to do including the usual fun fair, it's a knockout style courses and slip 'n'slides

On a side note for those who don't/can't camp, here is a link to some hotels/motels in the area to stay at; Click Me

In its 24 year, GTI International is a well established VAG show and is celebrating its sixth year at Bruntingthorpe. Meeting places and points will be discussed after I have got enough names for the show to make it worth while. So please, get your name down and let's get Briskoda at a big high profile show!

PRICES - entrance is £20 per day, or if we act quickly and book early, £29.90 for the whole weekend. That's a saving of over £10 - that's your lunch for the day, a sticker, some random stuff from the autojumble etc. (Thanks Jason for letting me know  )

*aaand breathes* That was a long one.

I shall start the provisional list

  1. RiceNik - 2007 Octavia L&K Combi - weekend, no camping

Might need to mention the cost of £20 per day, or £29.90 for the whole weekend if bought in advance (1,000 tickets this price - first come first served)

I will probably be able to do this, I can only say maybe at the moment though, depends if my friend is available that weekend in Nuneaton to make a full weekend of it, so I will have to let you know closer to the time.

I would come to this, but I think it's stock take that weekend at work, so can't get any time off

No no, absolutely not. I just need solid numbers and then I going to contact the organisers to set the wheels in motion.

I am travelodging it though I am afraid - this back has done too much camping :giggle:

no whenever you like - you normally order a stand pass when you order the tickets but there is no option this year for some reason....Not that a stand has been booked anyway yet!

Its Free!

I take it you mean free to go on the stand, but you still have to pay the entrance fee?

Yeah, its £15 a day if bought in advance, or £20 after first 1000 tickets are gone. The only difference with having a stand is you get to go on a stand rather than stick your car in public parking. :)
