Got stopped by the police today......

Featured Replies

Just to confirm, if you switch off the DRLs with the switch in the glove box

the sidelights are still the DRLS...so you cant totally switch the sidelight DRLs off

Please dont take any disrespect from this but I suspect the police are targetting you a lot mainly because you drive a really rather cool car for your age, also that car has the appearance that its had alot done to it.

I believe your totally right in saying that. It makes it worse but I still have to mention I got pulled the night I got my standard fabia. They then went on to saying its stollen as I couldnt produce and the car was just bought from yorkshire that day so that may be the reason I got stopped.

Think it's terrible how you've been treated; is a real shame there are loads of idiots out there who have essentially created this problem.

Think however there may be a common trend with these fast VAG diesels. My wife used to have an Ibiza 1.9 TDi PD 130 Sport, was completely standard but I sware it was quicker than a 1.8T Golf Mk4. It was quicker than the 1.9 CDTi 150 Astra SRi I had at the time. She got a few points in that herself and shes not what I'd call a crazy driver.

She's had an 80hp 1.4 Polo for the last 3 years and hasnt been stopped once. Think the problem may come about again as she'll be picking up her new Fabia vRS estate in June!......I also tell a lie she has been stopped by the Police recently.....on her pushbike in Oxford for running a red light haha!
