Open to suggestions!

Featured Replies

Last night coming home from work i was turning onto a country road (dry, perfectly normal conditions) when i planted my foot the car dragged to the left and the steering felt wishy as if i was sliding, it did this again 2 minutes later on a different road! Then when i put my foor on the brake there was a unnerving clunk under my foor as if the brake was mis aligned!

I got it home, tyre pressures all ok, brakes pads seem to have plaenty or wear....any suggestions? ;)

Slippery road? ;)

Rob.

the clunk feeling could have been the ABS kicking in with the Traction Control.

Rut in the roads grabbing the tyres? Black Ice?

Clunking clicking brake pedal is the ABS, you will feel it through the pedal as it engages

The dragging to the left is probably 'torque steer', I find I can get it if I plant my plant in lower gears and the road is anything less than perfectly smooth

Remember, the authorities are trying a new blend of Salt/Grit this year. It apparently has a kind of grease in it.

I got this info from the GTROC (Skylines), and one of my fellow members has recently run his skyline up onto a crash barrier sideways, and into a lamp post.

This "Greasy" film will cause havoc with ABS and Traction control.

You have been warned!!! ;););)

 What? Ice+grease? While they are at it, they may as well replace the grit with ball-bearings.

or spray snow and ice cold water on the roads instead!!!!

You right about the new salt mix they are using, a few biker have gone down this winter and are rightly forcing the councils to stop using it.
