ooo LPG eh? How you getting on with that?

I had a Range Rover a few years back with LPG...... I couldn't get on with it TBH. But most likely it was a flaky installation. As it was installed before I bought it.

Anyways, I'll post up the outcome of that pesky engine cover this evening once I've had a shifty.

Cheers lads

Think everyone should get it will pay for itself in under 20000 miles. Did 200 this morning so Im 1 percent of the way there... think the technology has come on a long way to be fair was a bit dubious myself works well though.

Hope your teething problems are coming to an end

Well, had a quick look before removing the cover and it definately wasn't fouling the DV pipe.

No pipes were loose. However, I had to tighten up the 2 hose clips around the DV. I'm pretty sure I tightened as far as I dared last night. But hey they took a few more easy turns just now.

But one of the clips on the intercooler has now snapped due to over tightening. Honestly, these were the ones I didn't replace so they were past it.

Going to get some new ones in a mo. Will report back!

I don't mind the teething problems. nothing too major so far. And I'm enjoying it in all honesty!!! lol

Cheers

Looks as though it's back to how it was before. I.e. reluctant when cold.

But other than that, she runs beautifully. Pulls really well, seems to be dumping when it should. So I'm happy with that.

TB will be cleaned on the weekend. Picking up the gasket tomorrow.

Haven't rechecked the error codes since coming back from a run though.

Before leaving I had these however:

16487 - recurring

17535 - no idea on this one, can't find info on it

17705 - recurring

01314 - came from the ABS check menu on my diag tool. No idea what this is. Guessing it was flagged when the TCS/ABS light came on under acceleration??

Cheers

i would clean the throttle body and possible look at a new maf ( not a ebay special has to be the real deal) as its running a k&N oiled filter chances are it has been cleaned with the oiling kit wich actually can kill the mafs on the car

whart you can do is get some electricl connection cleaner and give the maf a spray with that and see if it improves or disconnect and see how she drives with it off

its just small issues and will just make you more at home with your car when other things go wrong you wont need to take it to a garage to fix

17535/P1128/004392 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean

Possible Symptoms

â— Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active

â— Possible Causes

â— Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor faulty

â— Oxygen Sensor Control faulty

â— Oxygen Sensor(s) faulty

â— Fuel Injector(s) faulty

Possible Solutions

â— Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

â— Check Oxygen Sensor Control

â— Check Oxygen Sensor(s)

â— Check Fuel Injector(s)

with the 17705 and the above you either have a split pipe under the mannifold wich is very commkon and why i remove them all to stop this or your maf is fecked

i would check all hoses under the manni first if there all okay then i would try a new maf ( or someone lcal got one you can try??) p.s the last code is a no comms error with ecu but dont worry about that !!

Thanks again both

I will check the pipes under the manifold this weekend when I do the TB.

I've got contact cleaner, so will try that on the MAF. There are Bosch ones on eBay but are like £180!! Ouch. Are these the ones to get if I need one? Or do Skoda do them cheaper?

K&N will be coming off soon and going back to standard. Danp is sending me his standard box.

Are there any guides to checking the pipes under the manifold on here guys?

Cheers

17705 can be a B***h to try and solve. I scanned my can today and I've got it, thing is my TB is clean and I definitely have no vac leak at all so am just going to ignore it. My car pulls like a train and is pulling correct boost so no need to worry.

If you got someone near to you who will lend you their MAF you can then see if this solves your issues. MAF's are an exchange item from VW and cost about £80.

 Cool. I'm happy with that.

That's the only code that keeps returning. The others come back invariably and only since the probs the missus had yesterday. Which seem to be down to the pipes hose clips not being tight enough. When i took it out last night, I was as impressed as ever with the way it got itself down the road. And all that with 168,000 miles on the clock !!!

I think you're right mate. Hence why I'm not really flipping out about the problems. They're to be expected methinks.

Believe it or not, it's actually got a full service history backed up with all the receipts and fully stamped book!!

Tris.

I hope it was cheap :giggle:

Ok, so since I replaced that dodgy clip on the top part of the intercooler pipe, the car has been pin perfect whether it's cold or hot!

Could a leaky intercooler hose have caused my previous issues? It's been well behaved since yesterday morning - the first time of driving it after the new hose clip was put on.

And the car must have cleared all its error codes as the only one still there is the 17705.

Didn't get round to doing the TB and wasn't as rushed since it's behaving at the mo. But I will do it soon.

Cheers
