It's a very good car, with the standard limit set too 8200 and vtec at 6000 rpm its a great car to drive. Can be remapped to rev to 9000 with vtec at 3500 with Hondata and various other mods allowing the car to be quite a beast.

Im just looking forward to fun and economy :)

Plus I think the vRS is a cracking looking little car

Knowing how you drive, you'd like the engine, Des. If you have the courage to keep your foot planted at more than 6000 rpm, you get a feeling like a turbo has cut in :D

Addictive.

Welcome Andy :)

Hello and Welcome:D

Had considered the Civic Type R, test driven one and loved it but unfortunatly for me the insurance was

Welcome to the site. Type R to Fabia vRS

enjoy your test drive. Its a crackin little car.

Welcome! I have great respect for CTR owners and scooby owners too. Both have fantastic cars and yet you understand and know all about the merits of both the Fabia vRS and Octavia vRS.

Nice to see people who understand and respect cars first and foremost and know what they are looking for.

Enjoy your test drive!

I'm hoping, after 2 1/2 years of Vtec'ing its time for some fuel economy to add to the performance :)

Is the black as hard to keep clean as other black cars? Also have you noticed swerl patterns?

Glad you liked the car! Fuel performance is one of its many 'tricks' If your looking for good economy, sitting at 65-70 on the motorway gets about 58mpg. Fantastic. If you want to let rip, you could be doing 90 uphill and still get about 38mpg.

Mines is getting pretty minging looking with all the crap on the road at this time of year, something you will find with the Fabia is they seem to get dirty bums quickly, as the aerodynamics or whatever seem to make all the dirt swoosh back on itself. So yes, the black can be tricky to keep clean. I think red and silver would be best for hiding the dirt, but I reckon black or yellow look best.

I hand wash mine at least once a week, keeps it nice n pretty.

Haven't noticed any obvious swirl marks, never been to an automatic car wash though. Have seen a few light lines from washing etc, but only when your really looking for them.

Nah, cars get dirty no matter what, and even if they are SO WHAT. I try to clean mine once a week, and would if it were red, yellow, silver, pink or brown. Spring/summer is looming which means that more often than not the car stays clean for longer anyway. As i have said before, go for the colour you prefer and not what stays cleaner longer.

Never driven a CTR but I had an R plate Integra Type R. Had to be the most bonkers car I've ever owned! Sadly I had to sell it and buy a house LOL!
