the original OEM one - all the others don't filter as well and won't give you more power - so why bother?

Original paper here

Pipercross here. Noticed a tiny improvement over the paper filter.

Also get more noise from the re-circ valve :)

Standard VAG filter and change it regularly... they're cheap enough.

OK, it's time to change my air filter, I don't want to pay a fortune, I don't want a fancy one, just want a OEM or equivalent.

Called Skoda, they want £12.75 + VAT.

Had a look on eBay and I'm seeing the likes of this for about a thrid of the cost.

What's peoples thoughts?

Tom

k&n and cleaned regularly - not sure on a power gain but it makes a nice woosh on boost :giggle:

if you want the original vag item at a very cheap price call Sere Motors in N Ireland and ask for David Hawthorne in parts

How regularly should you clean em?

It says once every 50'000 miles but i do it every service and check it between services.

Cheers for that, I use to have one in my passat but only had it in there for like 10000 miles before I changed it out for an induction kit I got well cheap off ebay. But frankly It wasn't a turbo so not sure what I was thinking at the time

If you clean them regularly, they seem to be the most cost effective option to me, and everyone likes a slight woosh!

Here is my DIY guide if it helps as you were asking about modding the airbox..

Don't have to drill holes before people start on the old "Heat soak" thread again..
