Hope u guys can help

My Octavia vrs recently failed the MOT due to both front coil springs being fractured so i booked it in at local back street garage

picked it up yesterday and the front end ie clearance between arch and wheel seems to be higher is it possible they got wrong part and put on standard octavia springs

cheers

To answer your questions, Yes and Possibly Not.

You'll not be the first vrs owner to be given standard springs and I guess you won't be the last either.

It's got to affect ride height and handling. Depends on your driving style I guess. The fact that you've noticed a difference suggests something isn't right.

As said. If the springs havent got the yellow and purple dots on they are the wrong ones. Take it back.

For the VRS it's 1 violet and 4 yellow paint marks

As they can only get the VRS springs from dealer/TPS, they will have fitted springs designed for the 1.9 TDi. You could use these if you changed the dampers as well, but in doing so you lose the 'sports handling' of the VRS

As already stated correct VRS springs are main dealer or TPS only, no if's or but's. Ask your garage where they sourced the springs from. Standard springs will fit, but will give the wrong ride height, & poor handling.
