2.76" Milltek Cat-back

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a new exhaust for my vRS very soon, and much prefer the twin tailpipe design of the 2.76" system over the oval tailpiped 2.5" system...

In the description it says for highly-tuned engines especially with turbo upgrades......so, is this gonna be an issue on a car with just the cat-back and an airfilter as engine mods? are they saying its designed for highly tuned engines because its detrimental on an otherwise standard engine?

Hi

Yes IIRC there is a twin tail pipe for the Octy and it is a 3" system instead of the oval at 2.76" system and that is over and above the 2-5" standard

To be fair , it will fit , but to get the best out of it , you will need to do some mods

But will fit and be a tad better for you

Dont think it will hurt it, if it was a n/a engine then they need abit of back pressure to run right but turbo's dont, altho less exhaust back pressure faster turbo will spin up, well in theory anyway,

Standard system is 2.25" not 2.5". The 70mm milltek will be fine, a touch over-kill on a standard engine, however from experience mine fell apart (back box) 4 times! You do have a lifetime warranty but I f**ked mine off for a custom 3" straight through jobby!!

I have this setup on my car and it looks and sounds great. Turbo seems to spool faster too

I too have a Miltec 2.76" turbo back system bolted to a KO3s, and its been on for about three and a half years.

They look and sound great........ the only issue I've had with mine is that the down pipe caught on the stearing rack heat shield, even with a poly bush dog bone mount trying to stop the engine twisting on its mounts due to the high torque output.

So after several failed attempts to reshape the heat shield to clear the down pipe, it got binned and replaced with some heat resistant/reflective material.

Bill.
