Hi from new Octavia vRS owner

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone at Briskskoda.

Just picked up my first Skoda today - Octavia vRS in Silver. Looks great, but I haven't had much of a chance to try it yet. I'll be taking it easy for a while. Should make the commute to work a bit more interesting :)

Thanks to those who've contributed to all the info on this site. That helped me decide on the Octy - I've been reading through the forums for the last couple of weeks since I ordered it on Jan 8th.

Hiya Nick , good choice , tomorrow is Sunday , nothing to do ..................better go for a drive then ............... :D

Hello & Welcome :wavey:

Steve

Nice to see you here, Nick, and nice choice of car. :D

Hello and Welcome:D

and yes,Sunday tomorrow go out and get used to it,and before you ask your first modification should be the Nuespeed rear Anti-Roll Bar(28mm Adjustable).

Hello and welcome :)

Think the vRS looks very smart in silver :thumbup:

Black is best though :P :P

I've been reading all the docs that came with the car and am a bit confused regarding service intervals. The dealer said it should be serviced at 10,000 miles, but the service schedule that came with the car said it should on variable service intervals (QG1). Do I have a choice? Any one have any advice or recommendations?

Thanks,

Nick

stick to variable most do.. but if you drive it very hard then maybe the odd extra oil change wouldnt go amiss.. but this applies to any car... not just a vRS

get mine serviced every 8K miles,so just had 40K service at 35K,but have had a few mods done and do like to have some fun in it so can't complain.

Hello and welcome. You are going to love your Octy vRS

It comes from the factory set for variable servicing. That said, the dealer may have reset it for fixed servicing so I would query if this is the case and get it set for whichever you want.

PS: I'm a fan of variable servicing.

Hello and welcome :)

Don't be silly, red is best, closely followed by yellow. And why buy a vRS when you can have an Elegance , remap it to the same power levels, and enjoy all the extra goodies as well?

Hi Nick, and welcome to the madhouse that is Briskoda. Please ignore the previous pargraph (just the standard wind-up).

Sort out the service interval with your dealers; it's a matter of "horses for courses" - there are advantages (and disadvantages) to either fixed or variable servicing intervals.

Above all, enjoy your car, keep in touch with Briskoda, and come along to some of the local meets.

Thanks to everyone who's replied. I'll check with the dealer, but does anyone know if there's a way of checking on the car to be absolutely sure?

Nick

I'm actually looking forward to the commute to work tomorrow! :)

 Hello and welcome from another Silver Octy VRS owner on variable servicing, living near you in Northants. Which garage did you buy from?

The first 1000 miles is a bu66er - roll on 5000 and then chip the beast. Silver looks good and of course the :cop: use unmarked vRS's :D:D:D

In reply to plumsol - I bought mine at Merritts in Aylesbury.

How many miles did you get till your first service?

Nick
