My rear wiper has never worked since i had the car, so thought i would investigate over the weekend! Found that the plastic cap on the end of the motor has come off exposing a copper coil which has come out of the housing and wont go back in! Anyone else had this issue? Do motors off other VAG cars fit?

No, just the one for the Octavia. Ones from other models look similar, but they are not the same.
