Went mad with Lamin-X :)

Featured Replies

I quite liked the idea of black headlights, a la Brimma :p , but couldn't bring myself to pay nearly £200 for them. I also considered the colour coded grille idea, but had a brainwave instead......

Oh, and I'm not finished yet.....

Looks quality, I have some optic blue left over, might try it on my grill as well. I also done my lights with the subtle tint.

Not really my thing - just ends up making the headlamps look grubby? :S

But if you like it

I take it you've applied the same film to the grille surround, for a different effect? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

That looks excellent!

Was it easy to apply?

it look`s very good  but it`s not my thing

Off topic: Is that a Cupra R spliter I see there? Nice. Was it easy enough to fit?

@ Wardy-yep, used it on the grille surround. Loads of colour coded ones about-this works well on this colour as an alternative IMHO.

@oobster: lights were easy enough, the grille was a wee bit fiddly, but a heat gun makes a world of difference. ;)

@willskoda-yes, LCR splitter-needs two vertical 'fins' in centre trimmed a bit, then screw up into the bottom of the bumper. Holes won't be seen should it ever be returned to std.

As a plus side, this stuff is protective against stone chips too.

I do realise it won't suit every car, but I like it with the anthracite. :)

Could have done with some of that on my foglight as theres a big crack along it after a stone hit :(

Have I missed something here...........................won't that affect the light output of the lamps ???

Nope!

Not that I've noticed, although it does have Xenons. :)

It has an aftermarket HID kit is I think what you meant to say :p

Cheers-yep, I know that. :D

Just wondered was there a difference between HID's and Xenons that I don't know about? AFAIK it's two different names for the same thing.... :wonder:

Loving the look. makes it look very mean and moody.

off topic again but i really like the LCR splitter, you mentioned trimming 2 fins but how did you secure, self tappers etc,

much appreciated

makes it look very mean and moody.

Did someone say mean and moody? Might try the Lamin-X on my tail lights

Very nice, cracking idea to use it on the grille, did you go for the subtle tint?

Nice to see a picture of the passion wagon Bryan, I had almost forgotten what it looked like, I mean you haven't posted a picture of it for such a while now!! :p

Very nice, looks angry :)

What size kit did you buy to cover them both lads? Keep forgetting to measure the headlights on mine.

Yep-self tappers and washers-pretty easy really. I did trim the ends by the arches to get it to sit back far enough.

Might try the Lamin-X on my tail lights

Great mind must think alike :p I've got more Lamin-X on the way for mine-I've already fitted the FL ones, I'm just going to do the 'clear' parts. B)

Cheers, Lee-yes it is subtle tint.

You will need 28" X 12", they're big lights!

that looks the dogs *******s mate , really smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I like the look of this too although I went the same way as Brimma and love the look of the car now. Of course, it cost a few quid!
