Anything liquid like that should do. Panel wipe might evaporate a bit too fast. Its just to stop the paint from getting too hot and blistering. If you're careful and move around enough you should be fine.

Great work so far by the way. Can't believe how much you've done so fast.

Thanks very much mate, car will be getting preped for detail today and tomorrow. Hopefully get some good results :thumbup:

Yesterday I was at Fast & Modified Car Show at Ingliston, I spent the previous week getting the car ready. I was in a bit of a rush but got a few pictures along the way.

S3 you can see it in the first pic.

Some nice looking cars, but some equally shocking ones too. Like that White audi A3 and the green SEAT Ibiza lol

Wow.

That is one really well cared for vRS, nice to see.

Whoever buys that off you when you're done is getting a really superb example.

I love the engine bay!

Just got my second hand exhaust system dropped off today, £60 for the whole thing. Plan is to do the mufflerectomy mod on this system so I can keep original one standard. I had originally thought of buying a piece of 2.5" pipe and doing it myself but I might take it to the local exhaust place and see how much they'll charge. Few pics of the exhaust;

2011-07-28185809.jpg

Might be able to use a spare exhaust tip to join the old vRS tip to the pipe itself, like so;

Mike, nice looking car but you soooo need a Skoda Motorsport sticker on the Strut brace

to finish the engine bay off.

Like this.... ;)

Single colour variant. (You choose colour)

Hope you get on okay with the LEDs :thumbup:

Cheers Garry,

I was thinking of going for a www.briskoda.net sticker but now i'm not sure :D

All LED's bought, thanks again for the help :thumbup:

Have both then :D

Bottom centre of splitter for Briskoda sticker.

IMO looks cool there, subtle and not too "in your face". B)

I'm a victim of my own advertising :rofl:

Just ordered a pair of internal "etched glass" effect

vRS Motorsport stickers for my rear quarters.

Fancy a change. ;)

That is quite a cool place too put it, wonder how it'll hold up though, it would get a fair ammount of road abuse

Well been buying up more stuff this week, bonnet lifter kit has been paid for so should be here middle of next week.

Various bulbs; Main Beam, Centre Interior Light, Map Lights and Number Plate Lights. Should mention there all LED's.

Also bought Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Gun + FREE 1 Litre Snow Foam, Dodo Juice Red Mist TROPICAL Protection Detailer and Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild - pH neutral shampoo - 250ml

I have been doing more than just buying stuff, whilst I was playing about with my foglights I had a look at the number plate surround, i'd been meaning to colour code it for a while but I had thought it was a bumper off job, turns out it wasn't so took it off got it done.

Surround off, number plate back on

Painted, polished using Menzerna 2500 & 3000 grit compounds, PB Black Hole then Dodo Juice Purple Haze

Last night my mate who is a pro photographer was taking a few shots of the car, he says he has some work to do on them but hopefully I should see them soon, got a quick look earlier today and was quite impressed.

Note: Thanks again to grr666 for his help with the LED's :thumbup:

Looking really good Mike. How did you get the number plate surround off?

Cheers mate, used a big screwdriver then reached under the crash bar and pushed the tabs down, just worked my way round the surround pushing the tabs down and then prying it off with the screwdriver.

Main bulbs arrived, will get some photo's at night of them but got a few already.

2011-08-01163141.jpg

2011-08-01170920.jpg

Also had a look at the exhaust on the car, its in worse condition than the one I bought last week so the one on the car will be used for the mufflerectomy and the one I bought will be my back up standard.

More parcels arrived today;

Gilmour Foamaster II + 1L Elite Snow Foam

Dodo Juice Red Mist + Microfibre

Map Light LED's

2011-08-02164125.jpg

Might use them as side lights, not decided yet.

Foamaster at its second lowest setting, didn't want to waste a lot by using a high concentarte.

2011-08-02165409.jpg

2011-08-02165416.jpg

The Foamaster has 5 settings -

A: 1-128

B: 1-64

C: 1-32

D: 1-20

E: 1-10

How easy was it to get the middle map light cover off mate?

The whole cover comes off, thin flat head screwdriver and it pops off
