I'm afraid I'm going to have to duck out of this buy, guys. Apologies for the inconvenience, it's just an expensive month. The money that was going to remap and STS has now been allocated for a years tax and MOT.

This is my first year in bike racing, and already it's setting me back a fortune on tyres and race fees. However, this is priority over my every day transport.

I don't feel so bad given that so many others are still tagging onto the buy!

Thanks to everyone for actually getting it together and paying so we have 30 people. I honestly thought that more would have dropped out and the units would have cost £75. I have done lots of other group buys on other forums and there is always a bit of a let down when it comes to paying but not here. Thanks and heres to a few more bhp!

I expect I'm probably a bit late, but I'd like in on this. If I'm reading the thread correctly, then this Saturday is the cut off (12th March). With this in mind I'll call Shark tomorrow to see if they'll have me, if so I'll pay at the same time.

Couldn't agree more. I haven't been a member of this forum for very long but I've done group buys elsewhere which have usually been a complete disaster! A big thanks to David (opentoideas) for organising this with Shark and for keeping it closely monitored, great work!

it is getting a bit more confusing but only due to the further generosity from Ben at Shark

so if you are one of the 38 that signed up prior to the buy closing then you have until this Saturday 13:00 (12/03/2011) to pay

this deadline is fixed as there are those that need the map for a given time and this was agreed at the start to be when Ben must have payments to allow him to order the boxes the following Monday.

Now since there are still payments outstanding, even if you did not sign up before the buy closed Ben will add you to the offer if you call him directly and pay.

Either way the key is paying Ben

At 13:01 on Saturday if you have not paid – list or not – then you will have lost out on this opportunity :'(

I'm considering the DPF removal option for my A4, but I'm not sure if the STS can hold the necessary data for this at the same time as the normal Shark remap. If the dealer routinely updates my ECU after the DPF has been removed, will the car "protest" and can this be resolved just by plugging in the STS and reflashing, also reinstating the remap too? Might PM Ben this question if he doesn't see it here or if nobody can answer it.

with only a day and a half to pay I am hoping that many showing as outstanding have paid already but it looks like Ben is really busy at the moment.

you would need to speak directly to Shark for specifics but if the map needs to be altered for the DPF removal then Shark can do this via email (thats why the STS is so helpful) there would likely be a small cost for the alteration of the map but they would be able to clarify that too.

did you know that the MOT regs are changing next year and it looks like removal of emisions control divices would result in a fail....... something to think about :wonder: it can be done but needs to be done with this in mind

the reflash from the dealer is one thats been discussed previously and you should be able to reload from the STS but if not then again with the STS you can email the map to Shark for them to correct.

Ben has already said he is snowed under with PM's and messages - if you need an answer then please call him as there is a fair chance he wont get through the messages until after the deal is closed

Ben hasnt updated the paid people for 3 days, as he has been busy.

You are in red because you are one of the people that signed up after the GB closed, I wouldnt worry. If Ben can get 50 people I think it works out about £20 saving per sts, so hope for his sake a few more people join in the next 24hrs

Think hes going to be working around the clock the day after the sts units get posted

Also I'd like to give a big thanks to openideas and Shark performance for this GB, I was just about to order an sts the day after this GB was announced so its saved me a few £££'s
