I'm quite glad I found this group buy.. I've been considering a remap for a while, and this offer seems too good to miss out on, especially a second time around.

I'm running a mk1 Octy vRS 1.8T, currently stock, but with uprated DV. However, it's up to 84000 miles. Please could someone convince me that all will be fine should I plug in an STS with a stage 1 map? Mechanically, she is fine, well looked after and the cambelt was changed at 60k.

As said at the beginning of the buy, it's well worth joining up to Freedom for this deal alone!

Is it as simple as plug in the STS and replace the stock map with the Shark map?

It will be fine. I had an Audi a3 that I had remapped at 80k after doing the belt and waterpump and it went fine until I sold it at 110k.

On the website all the PD engines show up as being STS compatible, just the CR 170 that needs ECU in person, check the below link and select your exact engine to see for yourself.

my car doesnt seem to be on the drop down list.

i have a 2010 petrol vrs octavia but the list states 2004 - 2009.

i dont know if i have a tfsi or a tsi

Quite a bit.

TSI is chain driven, more economical and slightly more powerful in std spec. Should give better remap potential against the TFSi.

Keith my last car I am currently selling is a remapped, LPG converted 1.8t seat Leon that has 163000 on the clock and us fine as I looked after it

I've gone for it and my Octy has 86k on the clock. Never had a mechanical blip and has always had the maintenance done as and when so I'm same as you Keith, long time thinking all the time racking up more miles!

Have noticed on the list that I'm red but not with "paid" alongside... (I have paid). Roll on late/end March

is the remap designed to work with higher octane fuels?

Would it improve my MPG if I used the "expensive Diesel" from Shell over that of the "Normal Diesel"? :S

Can the STS unit read the fault codes of other vehicles (Eg our aygo) or is it fully linked to the remapped vehicle (potentially an Octavia 105PD)?

£269.31 with freedom discount sts box comes in the post plug into your car and read the code then email shark with your code they then email you a code specifically for your car "simples"

Well, all I have done is read the first post, :wonder:

and it says

If you have a favia VRS, then

Freedom member gets 10% off the map so £269.10

STS is free as long as the 30 people pay up.

The sts comes in the post (and a free shark performance sticker)

I would assume it would be able to read faults on the same ecu types, i.e bought for a fabia vrs, worls on a fabia vrs. But dont hold me to this. I have VCDS which reads all of the VAG group cars, but not sure what restrictions have been placed on the sts handset. My VCDS wont work on other manufacturers outside the VAG range, and I would say the same would deffo go for the sts

Ben mapped mine at about 120K - just hit 125K and all is fine

I will make sure stickers are sent with the STS units
