About 300 hp (real not rolling road inflated) is about all that is sensible to aim for for the 1.8-2.0T and achievable alothough arguably the 260 hp level is obviously cheaper to achieve and then spend money on handling etc.

The Octavia, mk 1 and 2, has a higher rear axle weight bias then other Golf platformed cars so will always get slower acceleration times than the A3, Golf and Leon with the same package. That said the UK police have around 500 Octavias, many Mk1s, with around the 300 hp. Acceleration around 0-60 in 6 seconds (by doing the maths)and top speed around 165 mph (GPS) the problem being that the VRSs are entering the red line in 6th gear.

One of the main reasons I went for the 1.8T TSI is its higher gearing in 7th gear ie 29 mph/1000 so if I do decide to tune and identify someone I am happy to tune it probably a German tuner as I like their professional presentation of their procedures, I would still only be between 5 and 6 K revs pulling 300 hp (says 300-350 Nm torque) and using 6-6.5K revs in 6th/7th. 1.8 TSI is a shorter stroke version of EA888 engine in current TSI VRS. But as I said, problems getting 160,170,200 hp down much of the time, might be fine in India during the summer when the tarmac is hot but not in UK at 5C!

356 bhp out of my 4x4 was fun but cost a small fortune.

More is achievable but many end up with narrower powerbands & sacrifice driveability

500 through 2 front wheels, even with a trick diff will be hard work.

Jbs built that 600bhp black one But i heard it had nothing up until high revs,

None the less when it did the 1/4 mile at inters it sounded crazy lol didnt grip to well tho

Police don't have 300hp Mk1s. Too hard to achieve to make it a volume thing.

Tried that & its rather Good

My Zeds got 455 at the rear wheels, lots of fun but not quick off the mark. I had a race driver take me out in it in the wet at brunters & he did a bit of showboating as he called it, we were going round a bend beautifully & I was looking ahead through the side window, realised how little I know about car control.

I have a new S4 and it is running 400 bhp all wheel drive it is 1 of the best handling cars I have drove is a pleasrure to get in and drive..Gunna have it remapped soon and a milltech exhaust put on it should get 450bhp or so....the new ones are supercharged so the power is instant....love it

Have you had it tweaked then?... I thought the new S4 had around 330bhp as standard.

Pulley upgraded? As there's no tuning solution for the ECU as yet, I assume you have some kind of piggy back ECU?

no a new super charger, and yes there is a chip for the ecu there is a couple of tuners doing them for the Audi...My mate has same car and has spent ££££££££ upwards of 10 grand now his is over 500bhp his supercharger is off a mustang that is all I know his is going in a german magazine next month.We are going over in the cars to do photo shoot can't wait will be fun.
