Apologies if this has been mentioned before but for €35 you could have just fitted these Octavia specific LED replacement lights:

The Yeti has only one (pathetic) boot light and just changing the one made a HUGE difference! :thumbup:

On the dome light feed - did you just splice a wire in then shrinkwrap/solder up again?

Not quite so simple unfortunately :(

Basically there is a constant live feed to the dome light, and the earth is switched by either the doors or a permanent earth, hence the sliding switch. You need to identify the earth circuit on the dome light circuit board, AFTER the switch, then connect to that.

I must confess I was too lazy to get the soldering iron out, and simply wrapped the wire around a suitably exposed part, then covered with insulation tape to avoid any shorting!
