I recently bye fabia 1.4 mpi, 8v, year 2001 and already have a problem with it. My engine oil smell on petrol. I ve didnt notice larger increasing of oil level, or any loss of car performance, top spid etc. Also have small leak of engine oil so this may be the reason of non increasing oil level. Help, how to solve this problem and manage my engine oil clean of petrol.

are u loosing any coolent? what colour is the oil. are u sure that the petrol and oil is mixing? is there any blue or black smoke out of the back?

Coolent clear, level is ok. Oil color is dark brown, change oil and filter recenty. No smoke on the back, car start and run perfect but still have petroled oil and no sighn of dieing engine. Forget to tell yellow light on the board is on, think check engine.

Worn engine bores. Do a compression test, it will be well down on the specifications.

I will try test then post it here. Anyone nows wich is normal compression specifications for fabia?

Could be a faulty temperature sender causing the engine to run rich all the time. This can also lead to fuel getting into the sump in extreme cases.

wouldnt the engine smoke with worn piston rings/bores. how about valve stem seals? had that on my rover 25. does the engine sound like a bag of spanners?

i think the comprestion ratio is 10.5:1 but dont quote me on that im new to skodas just seem to remember reading it somewhere when doing research. b4 u go rushing off checking comprestion ratios i would get the error codes read might give ya a clue as to what is going on.

I think to start first with compression, then other stuf you told me, one by one. Will post all resutates here and hope to be helpfull others with

same problems. Meanwhile write, everything you can think off.

IIRC compression test should show 10 bar (140PSI) on a good engine. I would also check for a leaky injector(s), blocked PCV system, fuel return line working, engine reaching proper temperature (coolant sensor).
