Fabia VRS problems

Featured Replies

Jesus :o that's some serious wear for rear tyres !

Hope you get it all sorted :)

i think most of that wear will have been done with the tire on the front tbh then someone has switched itt o the rear.

did u take tht wheel off the nearside rear?

No, offside rear it was. The nearside rear is showing the same pattern starting to form though.

I'd get a 4 wheel alignment check done. The rears are not adjustable though so if turns out something is bent (do you know the history of the car?) there's not much you can do - If the beam is bent...? Hmmmm, horrible to think about.

I'm having it remapped at AmD on Saturday, so may get them to have a quick look for me!

Could a bent beam really make it wear like that though? Perfectly symmetrical? I could see the bush argument, as if something has dropped slightly, but a bent beam would cause different wear on either side wouldn't it?

So I left AmD yesterday to start my 200 mile journey back to Wales not with 180bhp. I left with 110

On the road test everything was fine, my turbo is boosting properly, MAF sensor is reading well within the boundaries and there are zero fault codes logged in the ECU. Yet somehow the power is there until 2500rpm then it just stops, the power curves just stop.

I must say AmD were great about it and they were genuinely gutted that they were having to send me away without the map done and but for me living 200 miles away he would've kept my car to investigate further free of charge. They suspect it's the injectors, that at higher throttle levels they aren't letting sufficient fuel through because on every run I had little to no smoke coming out of it (should be plumes of black smoke) which means it's running lean.

I really am at a loss as to what to do. New injectors are £650 each from Skoda, an injector cleaner may not work and I can't just pop back over to AmD so I'm a little stuck. It needs to be looked at by a VAG specialist and an honest one at that because let's be fair, AmD could've just popped a map on and sent me on my way! Once again I must praise AmD for how they handled the day and my ****ty car lol

Any ideas guys/gals?

Gutting. Hope it's something simple and you get it sorted soon. People are always singing the praises of "Unit 18", so maybe you could try them?

Yes it is mate, it's only because I Eco drive everywhere I haven't really noticed!

Cheers mate, where abouts are they? Are they on here?

Edit: just checked, they are only 30 miles closer than AmD so being that AmD have already dealt with the car I'd prefer them to carry on with it!

Are there any trusted VAG specialists a little closer to South Wales?

Was a bent beam after, got it sorted with new polybushes and 3 new tyres (chewed the spare aswell!) for £300 all in (bought beam, fitted, new rear discs and pads and tyres) and the car is now transformed. The steering wheel was WAY out of line before which I always thought was a steering rack problem is now as straight as a ruler. There is zero cabin rattle anymore and economy has increased aswell. Still have the power issue but am getting there.
