Fabia VRS is going on Friday

Featured Replies

Bought it brand new in April 2006 from Barkers in Grimsby. It's never missed a beat, returned 49mpg on a daily commute to Manchester and cost me less than 6 grand to keep on the road and in depreciation in 46 months. I've had Beemers/minis, various VW's, Rovers, and this has been the best car I've ever had.

All good things come to an end though it's going on Friday.

So what's it going to be replaced with???? emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Oh right sorry that's on another thread. Seat Exeo 2.0 CR Tdi "S". tbh I would have kept the Furby, but I've seen loads of chavved up VRS's knocking about and don't want to own the VRS any more.

So Chavs 1 Sensible owner 0

Exactly the reason im thiking of Selling up. :'(

Glad your still staying VAG  you sticking around?

Is my vRS chavved up out of curiosity?

I've yet to see a chavved vRS - I've seen chavved Lupo GTis (a rarer car, which holds its value better than the vRS).

vRS chavved up? And sell it for a Seat? hmm...

My friends have a Seat Exeo ST 2.0 TDI CR 143 ps or something, very nice car!

Yup

What mods make it chav?

Not aiming this at anyone, but I'd say chav comes more from the driver/behavoiur than anything. Can get chavs is totally stock Corsas, Fiestas, Fabias etc.

As for the SEAT, I think they look nice, and I can't see how an A4 for half the price is anything less than amazing really! Enjoy it!

Got one of these on demo from SEAT Uk at the moment.

Nice cars. Terrible radio, not as economical as the Fabia, much bigger though. Go well in 4th & 5th :)

I still wanna know what makes a car chav and what doesn't...

Nothing IMO because it looks pretty much standard !

I think you're worrying too much what others think. Yours looks fine to me and I'm an old bugger.

Crap wheels, poorly fitted tints, dodgy Lexus lights, huge exhausts are what do it for me - yours has none of those.

Just my opinion :)

It personal opinion as to what is chaved up,

my personal view is fitting 3rd party external bits that really dont suit the car, as previously said, lexus lights etc, and specially industrial baked bean can exhausts.

To me lowering, tinted windows, remaps, darkened grille, coated wheels( most of the time) are not chav items, but thats just my opinion

Essential components of a chav car imho are: Cheppy bits of extra body kit, lowered, naff black wheels, tinted windows, cr*ppy DRL's,and some oaf sat so low and far back he can't see over the steering wheel properly.

A properly modded car is a different ballgame.

Surely what others doing to their cars isn't the main influence on you selling a much liked car?? I really don't get that. :wonder:

It was inevitable that the vRS would eventually be discovered by a few baseball hat wearing drivers but we have all been here a long time and know that driven and modified properly, the vRS is so much more than a chav car. Personally I would never modify my vRS as I think it negatively affects the future resale value no matter how much you spend on it, but there are some beutiful examples of tastefully modified Fabia's on here which are very fast too. Each to their own I say.

The good thing about this site is that no matter whether we come here for mechanical advice, or to show off our newly polished motors, we all share a common love for how awesome the little Fabia is in terms of underdog status, value for money and build quality compared to many other cars out there. Members who post about doing 0-60 in 2 seconds, doing 130mph on a 'private road' or easily keeping up with a Type R are usually dealt with appropriately and swiftly and take it with good humour for the most part.

Luckily the chav vRS drivers haven't really made it to these parts yet and when they do I may think differently, but as someone has already pointed out, it's more about how you drive your car. I am happy to take off at a crawl from the lights and to sit at 60 in the slow lane on the motorway because with fuel prices these days, I balk at filling the tank unless I've squeezed more than 450 miles out of the last one.

I smile at the idiot in the Saxo next to me at the lights revving his 1.2 frenziedly because I know that my car, should I want it to, would make him choke on stinking black diesel fumes. But why bother? Given my job I can't afford any points on my licence as it involves driving on a daily basis. Granted, I get to drive 20mph faster than the speed limit(!) with blue lights and sirens now and again, but driving faster doesn't mean at the expense of sense or not setting an example to other road users.

Having said all that, good luck with the Exeo buddy - it's a fine car and I hope that you'll continue to drop in on us here.

Ahhh we have a copper lads!

Ahhh we have a copper lads!

I've made no secret of that, but am not one any longer. I will still be on here, after all there's b*gger all different between Seat and Skoda.

I've said before I've found this site to be brilliant, I've saved a fortune by following some of the guides on here.

There's a vrs se round my way and it's been chaved up to the eye balls!! It looks terrible! It's got the most tackiest styling mods possible.

Shame!!

Is my vRS chavved up out of curiosity?

No! That's called OEM Fresh. Lovely car. Stop worrying
