Fabia 1.4mpi Classic 2000

Featured Replies

I have a 1.4mpi classic 8v, the engine light comes on and off. the mpg varies from 18-30, and thats driving around 50-60mph. The first computer I had it on said 1st lambra sensor, a new one is about £140, so I got one off a 77000 mile one. it was ok for a day or 2 and then fault came again. So I took it back and got another one, with same results. I got a third one and same again. I took it to another mechanic, he said there was no reading from sensor (no voltage reading) Said it could be broken wire, but couldn't give me a price for fixing it. We tryed another sensor, but still no reading.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how was it fixed. Would really appreciate your help.

Thanks D.

Once I had problem with lambda sensor No. 2, but was sold by replacing probe. In Your case I would go for replace or just route new wiring from probe to engine control module. Probe and ECM are located relatively close, so it shouldn’t be very difficult to do. Just observe wire size.

Often wires brake off within few inches from connectors.

And you're SURE it's not the fuse for the lambda sensor? Maybe come loose/half blown?

Just a thought.

No I’m not shore, but never saw or heard about half blown fuses, and there is one fuse for both lambda sensors, so if fuse fail there should be fault codes for both sensors (this is true for AZF engines with 2 sensors, AZE have 1 sensor).
