I think the genuine ones look better QUALITY, perhaps even slightly better fit BUT... I must admit, I think the ebay ones look slightly smaller and compact, less like some old fart driving an old Lada, with half a roll of carpet behind each wheel, more sporty, showing the car, rather than taking over.

Lets face it, neither will keep off THAT much grime from the back of the car and do YOU really car if the driver behind gets his/her motah covered in your road-splash? I don't, simply because, with more much coming up, they should have the sence to keep a safer margin of error from your car and not tail-gate you!

Mostly, you me and everyone else will be fitting them to make the car look better and, I think the small ones do that, without taking over!

If you really want to keep crud off the car, get the huge universal types, seen in most motor factors and accessory shops but they will look pants.

I was also thinking of getting them colour-coded to match the paintwork, again, the cheaper ones are stiffer, according to the guy with both sets... That will help the paint stay put. However, as my car is black and has black plastic door protectors, sill protectors and all black trim, I will keep them unpainted as they everything else anyway.

Painted would look mighty fine on some colours though!

Funny, I just saw another black one, with standard Skud ones fitted, as I parked at a students place sunday, compared the two then and prefered my money-saving ones then. Just re-looked here today, (Mon) and saw the comparison here too, again, on a black car!

I have also seen some on ebay with the Skoda badge on (White, paint or print, not actual badge) And was considering those but thought they would again, look OTT like some old **** in a rusty Nova, shouting "Hey!... Look at me, I am a rusty Nova"! Just in case you wern't sure! :giggle:

As you now know, I gave them a swerve! Any interest out there, they ame from China, and cost around £18, plus postage. Please don't ask for a piccie or the seller's details as I don't think I kept them! :D

Juat another point of veiw here...The genuine ones MAY look better if you have "Fatted-up" your wheels though. Or again, the smaller ones may even show them off better here, too! I am going to guess after reading this, there will be a big debate regarding looks and or cost. For me, I am glad to have the smaller, cheaper ones. If I wasn't, I would buy Skud's and re-sell mine before they get grubby! B)

After reading this thread I finally decided to buy some of these mudflaps. I paid £17 for them which is a bargain.

Initial thoughts were that they were shorter than i thought they would be (that's what she said! )

The fronts fitted perfectly, but the back ones could only be fitted using only the bottom screw as they didn't line up with the side screw (but still aligned with the bumper). But being a man I don't return things that don't fit, I just wear them anyway :giggle:

Anyway, pics:

I was going to spray 'SKODA' on the back ones, but alas I had no paint, so that will have to come in the future..

Overall conclusion: for £17, it does the job

looks pretty smart!

Don't suppose they will fit a Monte.

They should fit a monte still a fabia innit, Paul o'grady still Paul when he morph's in to Lilly savage lol, I had the superb with no flaps on the back the amount of crap lifted onto the hind quarters was terrible so definatly better with them on, eBay ones are crap !

Yes I know the Monte is still a Fabia , but don't forget it has plastic trim around the wheel arches and sills, just wondering if these would stop them fitting correctly.

Does anyone know if these fit the Estate version?

I think Skoda supply different versions for the estate Fabia, BUT... The seller will probably let you try and return them if they do not fit. Lets face it, they have the potential to sell a sh-ed load more if estate owners buy them too!

They did offer me a full refund at the time I purchased mine, if I was unhappy about the fit. Still on the car and still happy with the purchase!

Indeed the estate ones are a different set. As for the ones on eBay I can't say I like them. The original ones might look bigger but they add to the whole width of the car making it look wider and I like that.
