eek, help with oil for fab vrs please

Featured Replies

Hi all, i brought some mobil 1 ESP formula 5w-30 as per halfrauds data sheets.

on the back in small print it states@ VW 502 00, 503 00, 503 01, 505 00, 506 00 & 506 01 then it says ( not for unit-injection/Pumpe-Duse TDI without Longlife Service and without DPF between 1999-2003 and RS/V10-TDI befor 2006)

which leeds me to belive and panic that this is no good for my vrs............wich worries me cus i've put half a ltr in.

however as per the sticky

Note 3:

Skoda Customers Services have confirmed that spec VW 507 00 oil is also suitable for the Fabia vRS. The thread below includes oils which meet that later spec.

so if this oil is VW 507 00 approved then it should be okay?

thanks

VRS oil is a minefield. Sticky says OK, but I wouldn't trust the info if the bottle states not for PD engines.

1/2 litre wont do any damage, but I would personally add 505.01 spec oil to top it off. Can't go wrong with Castrol Edge 10/40W much better cam lobe protection.

anyone want to buy 4.5 ltr of mobil 5w-30 then?

:wonder:

cheers mate, i'll try get some asap

dont buy 10w40 either, its 5w40 505.01 spec. cant go wrong with quantum platinum 5w40 fully synthetic, good pd oil specifically desgined for 505.01 so perfect oil imho, plus vw brand seal of approval  and cheap too compared to rest of market

so if this oil is VW 507 00 approved then it should be okay?

Yes 507 00 spec oil is fine for the PD engine.

Yeah halfords is crap!

I was going to buy that oil too but i decided against it and went to vw instead!

They do 5l of quantum fully synthetic for £25!

Cant do much better than that

I ran millers and now on quantum pd oil.

Some one was flogging it on eBay and I won the auction for a tenner, beaut

Got mine from halfords was on offer castrol edge 5w-40 for turbo diesels

I get anybody's engine oil as long as it's fully synthetic 5W40 and with the VW 505.01 spec. which is all clearly visible on the label.

Recently got some off E-Bay £25.90 for 5 litres.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
