Wind Deflectors

Featured Replies

What's everyone's opinion on these fitted to a vRS? Any photos?

Seen the progress thread of the SE with pink wheels? He has them and I think after I've paid out everything I need to ill be purchasing a set.

I have some on mine, v subtle. pretty nice, again there was a thread about 2 months ago regarding them. Its more for aesthetics than functionality unless you smoke. It helps airing out my damp car quicker :giggle:

Get Heko ones (@ ~£32 for all 4) which slots inside the rubber rather than the original skoda ones as iirc they stick on the frame (much less subtle). Ebay is your friend.

Here's a pic of mine, with the Team Heko ones fitted.

Sorry but air deflectors look gay unless on something jap

They serve a purpose too tho dont they?

Matt

Yes but I don't smoke and don't have the window open unless it's warm or I'm collecting my mcflurry ;)

Seat wheel on the front and standard fabia onthe rear? Lol

I don't smoke in the car, but they do let you have the window open to get some fresh air in, without having gusts of wind blowing about the inside.

Yes, winter tyres B)

I bought the front ones off ebay as a pair with the tyres. Got a 2nd set of tyres for the rear from a member on here, and found 2 matching wheels off another seller on ebay for the back, but he let me down, and didn't send them for 2 months!! So the tyres had to go on the standard rims on the rear.

They're coming off tomorrow anyway

I like there window open a little most of the time for a bit fresh air so quite like the idea of these.

Also reduce wind noise massively with window open at motorway speeds, I bought some 2 weeks ago, but could only find a seller in Germany, so got them from there.

This is the set I have on mine.

Tbh they look ok on the front but the rears stick out like a sore thumb

Thinking about it they look ****, nevermind

Yeah, i`m not going to bother with rears if i get em, no rear seats so pointless tbh

I got a set of SKODA ones off ebay last week for £16 delivered. Just the front ones mind you.

On a black car they look fine, on anything else they look pap!

I know my car looks pap anyway, so I dont care. I bought them for their function! It's nice to be able to open the windows slightly and let air into the car without the horrible buffeting noise you normally get.

It's a bit like having the function of a tilting sunroof. Just makes driving less 'stuffy' feeling if you like.

Oh the joy of the Sunroof! My Wind Deflectors got dispached today! B)

Quick question, they slot into which gap?

Between the seal and the metal / Between the Seal and the Glass?

could someone get an upclose photo of where is sits in the seal?

Seal and glass, you will also get some metal clips which will help guide the glass onto the seal instead of into the deflector. If you have a q when installing ping a PM this way, its pretty self explanatory on the packaging . remember when flexing the deflector do it gently as it can snap :giggle: .

Legend!

Will do!

One thing that I found helped was to put some double sided foam tape around the top of the deflector before you put it in.

Sometimes when you open the window the deflectors would drop down slightly (especially the back). The tape cures this.

Somebody must like them, as they have nicked two full sets of my car in the last 18 months. They have both been tinted sets, so now ive just opted for just having a clear pair on the front, but they dont look as good

Well the OEM skoda ones slot in where the window glass goes into. So when the window shuts, it's totally pressed in, and 100% un-nickable.

It also has the downside that sometimes the auto shut function gets confused and rolls the window open again (cause it's a tight fit it makes resistance and tricks the window into thinking you've caught your hand in the window)

Sorted all in and sweet as a nut, the drivers side thinks its an arm but looks sweet!

OMG the drive to work on the M20 could be done with the window open a bit without looking like iv been dragged through a hedge backwards!!!

And they are tinted B)

I cant see why ppl dont like them they are the best £35ish iv spent in a while for the car
