Another blown turbo Fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Just heard something go pop under the bonnet, didn't still be the power's almost completely gone. Looking like it's a turbo problem...

Guy who sold it to me (last sunday  ) changed the cambelt for me, so I'm hoping he just didn't put the turbo pipe back on properly and it's blown up.

If it's the whole turbo buggered, then I'm in trouble. It does feel like the power is there when you first start it up though, and then it cuts out again.

Your in the same boat i was in about a week yesterday! Thats exactly what happened with mine.

sounds like turbo fingers crossed its a pipe though!

Turned out alright!

Looks like the guy I bought it off, when he changed the cambelt for me, had to take off the pipe to the turbo... problem is he put it back on using cable ties... whacked a couple of bolts in it, now it's fine!

Turbo Lottery, it could be you! unlucky mate,

Mine has just done over 70k, orignal turbo, all seems fine, its off on friday to a new owner aswel, il miss her. Turning the car on i do get a puff of smoke but i assume this is normal with a Diesel?

Turbo Failure related: My mate came to me yesterday and said his mondeo TDCi was sounding like a Police car, directed him to some forums and abit of google searching resulted in a sleepless night for him.

My 100% reliable 215k (two-hundred and fifteen thousand) miles have just come to an end with a suspected turbo failure.

I am very sad :(

I know, I know.  :)

I was kind-of saying that tongue in cheek really, after the palaver I suffered 10-years back with the cr@ppy MINI Cooper Ss.

I'll let you all know how much The AA/Halfords try and sting me for...
