200 bhp Furby?

Featured Replies

Found this on Scoobynet. link

Anyone on here heard about this? Sounds like a beast

If the source is correct.... well... umm... I like the sound of that!!!

2.0T FSI? 4x4? 6-speed manual?

WANT ONE!

Sounds a real Fabia at last... with a haldex too... ooh the FurbyRS boys are not going to like this...

This would certainly solve my dilemma when the 4x4 will be bought from my boss for Mrs Dutch to drive in 2006...

Why swing back and forward between small FWDs and big AWDs, or even diesels, when you can have AWD and petrol in a small powerful car!

Wouldnt mind one, but

I think i'll go and have a chat with my local dealer and would consider swapping the Octy for one if this is really true.

What a great little car that would be,mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Will be silly insurance i'd expect aswell.

But hey i'd get to drive them at work...cool.

The attraction for us was the fuel economy and performance.

SWMBO does a lot of miles, so it's the best of both worlds.

A Petrol Turbo 4x4, hmm - Thats what I have a Scooby for

200 bhp Fabia? Theres one for sale on here somewhere..lol.

Scoobs are great.. noise is just lurvely, but I get over 40mpg out of my petrol turbo 4x4 :D

I wish!! I'm probably getting just over 30 with normal driving and around 25 if I have my heavy shoes on.

I've got a Prodrive back box and Hayward & Scott straight through mid section, so yes she does sound nice :P

If only I didn't need a big boot this would be perfect :mecry:

hmmmm nice *fingers crossed* must win the lottery :D

I hope this is true and it does go into production for sure, it might make people see how god damn good the Skoda brand really is!

It sounds like a fun limited edition. Fuel consumption will be higher though, it will no doubt be excellent to drive (and yep, probably better than the Furby vRS).

That said - I'm buying my Furby as I wanted a decent car which can cruise at decent speeds and can be tweaked in a couple of years time when I have saved up enough to get it remapped :D

The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to think that this 200hp Furby is a unique proposition in its market segment, if they would price it at, say, CTR level and give it more equipment.

It would be the only compact car with AWD (apart from the gutless Subaru Justy :D ) which would set it apart from its CTR, IbiCupra, VTR and 182 rivals, while perhaps also attracting people down from Scoobyside.

So why just a limited edition? Skoda is VAG's WRC brand. Let's just hope it's simply for testing the waters...

Hmmmm...never thought of it like that before. So, let me see...VW own Skoda, Seat, Audi, Lambo, Bentley. Of all these brands - the "cheap" names, Seat and Skoda - are the only ones that participate in any credible forms of motorsport (Audi/Le Mans)...

Incidentally, does anyone know when, where and how much yet?

This car has apparantely been handed over to some Czech journalists for testing now and has "over 147KW" (200BHP), 6 speed box, permanent 4x4 and suspension from the Octavia.

There is also a rumour at the moment that the new Fabia WRC (to debut on the next round in Mexico) will have a new TFSI engine instead of the 20v one in the current car.

Hmm, that should help the WRC team claw back some of its power deficit... The bored-out 1.8T was always a weak link.

The road-car version won't come cheap, though.

Incidentally, this is the new Evo2 Fabia WRC:

Here's the translation of the article posted at http://www.autorevue.cz/Bleskovky/AR.asp?ARI=4834, thanks to skodaforum.nl:

"The editors of AutoTip magazine were given the opportunity to test the concept Fabia WRC as it will probably be taken into production. We already wrote about this car in January and didn't quite believe the rumour that it might be manufactured for real. But now information has reached us that confirms what we have been told: both Octavia suspensions, all-wheel drive, WRC looks. Such a car exists and is being tested at the moment."

"It was built up by hand, with 17" wheels and 225-sized tyres, Spartan interior and hiding under its bonnet is a 2.0T FSI engine tuned in excess of the standard 200 horses. Tuning was done by Audi specialists and according to the author [presumably he is referring to the AutoTip journalist, D4x4] they weren't keen to hand over the technology, which doesn't surprise me a lot. The author is talking in superlatives to describe the driving experience and is praising this car to no end. Skoda is still in doubt over whether to take it into production but if they do Harald Ludanek is certain it will be sold out in no time."

It sounds good to me too,

The best thing is if you read all the thread alot of people are considering it instead of their scooby, and only 1 person has a bad word to day about Skoda, finally a bit of recognition for what we have known for ages!

Thanks for the translation Dutch!

I am certain they would sell all 1500 very very quickly indeed. Hopefully it would encourage them to make more like it in the future.

I say slap
