Cambelt in North West

Featured Replies

I know there is a new thread about this every other day but was hoping someone could help me out. Basically my VRs is due a cambelt and I'm just wondering where the best place in the north west to take it. I've called Awesome GTi but they want £350 with the water pump. I also tried Skoda but they wanted way over £400.

Can anyone advise any places local and what sort of price to expect?

Thanks

David

West end Skoda Uphall. £199 Inclusive (Does not include water pump though £41 extra)

Where abouts in the NW are you? You could try JVW in Haydock, they are Vag specialists. I've had work done there and they've been great (console bushes, and rear discs and pads). I didn't go with them for my cambelt but only because Skoda quoted a good price on cambelt/pump/service/MOT. I think JVW quoted me around £300 for the cambelt and pump.

I've rang round a few places today and the cheapest were Volkservice in Blackpool. They quoted me £250 all in including the water pump.

Has any had any experience with them?

Thanks

David

I've used Volkservice, they're pretty decent. I got mine done at the VDub centre in Blackpool. Was £100 labour and I bought the kit from Sere motors, was £101 for the genuine Seat kit and water pump, although I need to send the old water pump back to get my surcharge refunded.

They don't look as professional as Volkservice but the guy there knows his stuff.

Are there any places around the midlands for a cambelt change +/- 100 miles? around the prices your quoting?
