iPod connectivity

Featured Replies

I have done a search, and know it has been asked quite a few times before, but I am going to raise the topic again!

I currently own a 2004 Fabia vRS, and have an Alpine headunit in, which my ipod will quite happily connect to and play, however, because I have this sudden urge of going back to standard, I want to have a look at iPod connectivity to a standard headunit, and through the search it brought up 2 results. Connects2 and Dension. It also became apparent that whatever system that would be chosen, would take the CD changer port on the back of the stereo (no problem as I dont have a changer) however, this issue got me looking at the standard headunit. Have I got a CD changer port? Is there a control for the CD changer on the stereo?

Is there any way I can find out?

The headunit is a "symphony" single slot CD head unit with text display at the top, and the random long number (part number?) after this on the sticker on the side is 6Y0035156C.

Can anyone help out a poor idiot like me? I don't want to buy a kit and then find out that it won't work or something stupid like that.

Cheers in advance!

Both kits will come with a blue multiplug which plugs in to the circled socket!

wicked, thanks for that. Do you have one yourself? How do you rate it?

I've got a Connects2 Aux in adapter, Can't fault it!

Cool, thanks. If i can get other people's opinions on it, I may well go and purchase!

+1

Some tracks are quieter than others (this is down to the quality of the mp3s) and there is a little buzz from interference but this really is minimal.

I've had mine a month now and it's fifty squid well spent in my opinion.

Dan

I had a connects2 AUX unit in my vRS before i sold the car and we still have one in the wife's vRS. I really can't fault them. They are easy to fit and perform great.

Cheers

Dave.

I have tried to PM you about iPod connectivity, but your inbox appears to be full. So I've e-mailed you instead! :-)

just get a griffin itrip which works off a free radio signal.

You can get them from halfords and it also charges your ipod\phone. You can download a free app to use with it.

I have one and cant fault it.

Hope this helps.

FM transmitters are useless, I had one before the Connects2!

It's 9miles from home to work and I used to have to retinue the stereo at least 3 times on my drive to and from as I passed one coverage area to another! Near any major city pretty much the whole FM band is taken up!

Precisely. I want to avoid using an FM Transmitter, and although people say it's no problems, AUX connections don't do it for me unfortunately. I like a nice solid plug into the bottom of the iPod, and controls via the headunit. The Connects2 seems to be good, its just a shame about the extra box that comes with it!

I would also like to know too ;)

"Earth Wire Screws here"

Can I just check that the standard change doesn't have an earth here guys? I bought an after market cable and it doesn't.

To remove the buzz, get a ground loop adapter, works perfect!
