Shorted drop links

Featured Replies

hey guys got my fabia lowered today :) and need shortened drop links, just wondering what everybody else is running? And where I could source some relatively cheap ones? Can I go wrong with which ones I get? Do they have to be an exact length? or just shorter? Lol

Cheers jordan

Thanks moggy :) just one more thing tho. You said adjustable ones would be better as the tension has to be right? Would I be better with those? And are they much more expensive and how much should I tighten because I dont want to get those mondeo ones if they will make handling worse lol

Cheers

Mondeo ones will be fine mate. Adjustable ones are expensive in comparison and not much use unless you have gauges to read suspension angles before and after lowering.

Depending on the suspension kit you won't need shortened drop links - its all to do with the placement of the holes in the strut tower thingy or so I was told :giggle:

Yeah some coil overs like Weitec and AP the arb mounting is higher up the damper so shorter drop links aren't needed.

Running a fair drop on my coil overs and standard drop links. No problems.

What suspension are you running?

JOM coilovers lowered about 40mm

Can't see why you would need shorter links.

Mondeo drop links part number - Firfdl6354 cost me £14.54 but they were on account I'm guessing they would be more expensive without this.

Type this item no into eBay 200577038613. Same buyer I got mine from 12.25 delivered and they are perfect for the jom coilies I'm running!

hi, just fitted jom coilovers and there rubbing off the driveshaft (there wound right down),do u know if the mondeo droplinks will fit and clear? p.s is it from a mk1 mondeo?

cheers

yeh they will work wel :) im not down too low, 45mm and work wel, but there are other people who run them and are lower and work wel. go for the mk1 mondeo ones

It's interesting that you all say there is no need for shorter droplinks on the VRS if you have a minimum drop. Mine is on Eibach Pro's that drop the car by about 25mm and there is some knock only on full left hand lock, any idea why?

good chance that the original droplinks will be hitting off ur driveshaft?

i have my coilovers wound right down and had 2 get shorter droplinks. no knocks or rubbing after fitting them.

Just to let people know if you buy fk coilies you get shorter drop links included.
