Uprated Brakes For Octavia Vrs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can give me a few suggestions, currently i believe my car runs standard brakes but with uprated pads and discs.

With having over 300bhp under my foot, they dont really give me lots of confidence so need to get something done about it, have been thinking of fitting Audi RS4 B5 brakes?

Any point, or is there a better idea?

Porsche 4 pots DS2500 or DS3000 Pads!

CompBrake gets my vote. Very good for the money.

If you do a google search for 'Godspeed brakes' they do a AP Racing 6 pot with a 335mm disc that fits under the standard wheel. They are expensive though....

You don't want those, trust me, got them

The piston are too large for the Octavia Master Cylinder.

You want Brembo Junior GT calipers with Badger5 or Godspeed bell/rotors

I aint prepared to spend 1k on brakes if im honest, probs about £300-£400 tops.

Heard alot about Porsche brakes but not a clue which calipers to go for.

get second hand brembo gt kit, or lcr kit (almost the same) they go secondhand for 400ish upwards, they are your best bet with your budget

Don't tell everyone.. LOL

havent you bought them yet Rob?

Have you had an 'Oh s*"t!' moment then? It's possible to do this with a standard car if you're making good progress, so with that much power, I should imagine it could get very scary, very quickly.

Compbrake offer a 10% discount to briskoda members, asked them when i was buying my dv off them.

My old thread might be of use from when I uprated mine for the second time?

Least you remembered to slow down lol. I fitted a rarb and for some unknown reason thought i could take a roundabout at 50

what happend? did you lift off?

What calipers are they Flybikeslee?

They look like 996 or Boxster S rears to me!!

that sounds brave/stupid, what happened?

Not 100% sure think it was either too much speed or because I played around with the front tyre pressures raised them by .5 bar or could be both.. Went straight instead of turning luckily managed to scrub enough speed off and just lightly clipped the curb no damage just brown pants lol.

Gonna lower the front tyre pressures and also thinking of tightening the adjustable rarb and see what its like

Have a chat with Bill at Badger5, he has spent a lot of time developing and chosing components for his 2-piece conversions, and they work properly, good value too in the scheme of things

986 front brakes, work perfectly on the octy
