2011 new skoda badge/logo

Featured Replies

Hi all had my new 11reg Octavia vrs for a week now and I love it but I'm horrified to see skoda re-badging cars with a new logo ? Making my new car look dated allready do any of you knowledgeable folks know if u can change the badges/logo on the car grill, boot and steering wheel to the new type when they become available ??? Thanks in advance. 2011 Octavia vrs petrol race blue

Not heard of this and not sure why they would re-badge given the change of perception about the Skoda brand image.

re-badging is imminent. youll be able to change the front and rear easily for just over 20 quid. not sure ive ever seen one you can buy for the steering wheel insert tho.

Rear you can heat with a hairdryer then get some fishing wire behind the badge to gently prise off. Same with the front but it has a plastic lug at the back of the badge into the grill youll have to remove.

Whats the new badge look like then? Picture please?

Seen the newer text but not the actual badge.

its not been released yet

there was a new badge on the concept model in another thread but its not confirmed if this is the new one or not. The parts manager in my local dealer has seen some possible mock ups and he wasnt impressed with them :(

Cheers for quick replies folks I've only noticed that the logo s on the official skoda website and the skoda uk motorsport site too have all ready changed I will swap mine as soon as they are available

If the following article is anything to go by New Octavia, the logo displayed on the new Skoda website is the same except it will be black and silver only, the green has been dropped. Don't know how this will affect Fabia VRs owners!! :giggle:

If correct, the new badge appears very bauhaus! Maybe VW are trying to ascert their authority! :D

hmm, think id need to see it on a real car

I think a vote might be interesting - don't know how to do that. I think it looks cheaper than the old one, reminds me of generic PC brand logos.

New badge does not look like at all, if you watch any crime drama on C5 then you'll have already seen the new badge as all the advertising is slowly being switched to the new badge.

Mannyo and mine look remarkably similar . . . I hadn't noticed his link !

That one looks better than the one earlier one .

Need to see it on a car to pass judgement, so far I prefer the old one though!

Oh my dayz dat iz well wicked bro' :giggle:

Like it, but could be a bit bling depending on what the badges come out like. Might upgrade my badges anyway.

This topic has been discussed in detail in quite a few threads on here already. Also on Škodas official Facebook page. It will look something like this but will only go on cars from 2012:

I like - will replace mine once it's official if it looks like that.

I noticed the different logo on the Skoda website the other day, I quite like it, and also the new 'Skoda' typeface, all in uppercase and if I'm not much mistaken Microgrammar Bold Extended! I used to have all my show plates in this type face, nice and easy to reproduce for decals etc.

It's a shame the 1st badge on the picture AndrewJB added isn't the one on the cars, I had that one made up in vinyl and did my own!

I really like that badge, I winced at the blue and green offering which looked a bit amateur but this is in a different class, nice one !

I will change

Yea im really liking the new badge if it is indeed what it changes to. (dont mind the green either but silver/grey looks spot on).

Right then how abouts we beat Skoda to it and get these made up? Il have a front and rear (and possible wheels).

Looks like we're heading from non oem back to oem!!!

:D

i never quite understood the badge fuss.

if you were not "proud" of buying a Skoda why did you do that in the first place?

that was the badge then, why should i change it, far more why should I remove it completely as some people suggest?

of course in a different rational I am in favor of the discreet indentification of the car...

just a plain Octavia logo at the back of the boot, and maybe the TSI.

(no RS, horsepower or cubic capacity tell sign etc)

So, which is the best logo over the years? I know which one I prefer..........
