Indeed there is when repairing the loom the main problems with interior lighting, exterior puddle lights etc seem to be caused by the joints in the rear footwell just undo the front seat you dont have to unplug it just carefully move it over the drivers seat and lift the carpet you will see a large group of wires repair these joints and hey presto

hi there , yes you are correct, i have removed the seat, the trims, and the rear seat base, pulled up the carpet to expose the sodden floor and wiring.

the carpet is propped up by a couple of lengths of wood and the carpet and underlay is now drip drying!

the wiring on first inspection is together but i know its slightly green , which means oxidization and poor conductivity, hense many circuits

failing.

i have looked at the pollen housing and the seal had failed , it was hard and brittle and fell to pieces

the inner one was pristine, so everywhere was cleaned thoroughly and sealed with a very thick bead of silicone sealer, and was then fitted, once in place there was evidence of the sealer pushed out around the housing.lovely jubbly.

so when the carpets are dry i will repair and solder the wires

i will keep everyone posted

thanks so far

Just a little tip remove the side kick panel under the dash on the passenger side in there you will see loads of plugs in my case about six months after sorting the interior light problem another problem appeared the oil low warning symbol on the dot matrix refused to go out after topping up with oil turned out there is a grey plug under this panel that was also corroded due to the water ingress so it would be worth your while to take a look in this area and maybe spray a water repellent or some other type of protection in this area P.S you say you have repaired the pollen filter housing check under the battery for the two drainage holes clean these out and remove the silly rubber duck billed washers and yes I said duck not *uck billed cause that is what they are
