when i was a civil engineering draughtsman in 1969-70's i did the road alignment drawings for the A90 upgrade

craigmore/north kessock/tore/ardullie and maryburgh links

i got to know the area well from my desk with all the aerial survey drawings we used

 

bo'ness is my home town...

i spent a lot of time in linlithgow playing in the reed band at the marches...and other local gala days

that was 1967 to 1980...i played clarinet and oboe and my wife flute and piccolo...

its different now...a lot of brass players and better uniforms..

i still have friends there who live along side the canal at strawberry bank.

how long have you lived there...?  i was born in bridgeness in bo'ness...near carriden in 1943

Ricer.. as in **** who adds adjournments to their car usually a Honda, in the mistaken belief it’ll go faster.. such as shopping list stickers, tea tray spoilers, silly rasping exhaust box etc. The car can be referred to as having been riced. 

 

Technically Jays car hasn’t been riced except for the rising sun roof sticker. We use it as a term of endearment, ne wind up lol.. “here comes Ricer Jay in his poop box ricer..” usually said quite loudly so he can hear..

 

 

 

We have a few down here...you can hear them before you see them...and they usually come out at night.....

gulp...our local animal attraction have just put an enclosure for them....we havent been for ages

we were in the nepal uplands some years ago but i dont think we could get the chance to see them there...just the people in the farms slicing the bamboo

your composition is ok by me...for these shots i usually say...why did you take them...the answer is emotional and not photographic..

I take them so that i can compare the weather week / month / season each year on year and compare & the locations are also being modified by hard landscaping,

& also to send to my partner as she works far far away while i just go play on my bike.
