How to remove battery

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I hope this isn't a duplicate post- sorry, if so.

I'm trying to remove the battery from my Fabia 1.9 TD elegance, registered 2004. The engine electronics are in the lid of the battery compartment, and the entire lid comes off no problem, but I cannot see how the damned battery comes out. It appears to be sat in a thin plastic or paper container, and there aren't any obvious bolts or anything to loosen.

Also, if I remove the battery (I'm replacing it- it's been in since new!), will this immobilise the car? (Will the immobiliser kick in?).

Any help would be wonderful. I inherited the car with no manual or anything. Thanks in advance and sorry if this post is duplicated.
