Well, the steels are on (195/50 r16's) and the alloys have been dropped at the refurb company. They had some nice gunmetal grey wheels, but I went for gloss black in the end. Picking them up next Saturday. I'll post when they're on.

I actually quite like the steels, but they need a refurb and the car need lowering to do them justice..... though 4 Fabia alloys in the boot helps!

Where did you get your steelies from? I'm looking for some for mine too as I want to get my alloys refurbed and powdercoated med grey

powder coating alloy wheels is a bad idea, the powder coating process involves heating up the alloy and cooling it multiple times.

This causes the wheels to go brittle and when x-rayed they show up to have multiple hairline cracks, This can cause the wheels to shatter / damage easily. Manufactures such as Audi, VW, Skoda etc. paint wheels from standard for a reason

Mine have gone rusty bubbly and the silver paint is flaking off. Am I best to get them sandblasted then painted myself?

Alot of wheel refurbishment companies paint wheels i had mine done in castleford by a friend and they look really good, A quick google search for wheel re furbishers, is where i would start and then ring around for prices. for 205 16's they price should be in the region of 30 - 50.

At the end of the day its down to personal choice, you could have a go at painting the wheels your self, take them to a local bodyshop or have a wheel re furbisher.
