I can't decide what colour to do my wheels...... They're standard Furby VRS 16" Spiders. I'm having them refurbished and powder coated a different colour.

Now, do I go for a metallic Anthracite, Gloss Black, Gloss Black Metallic or satin black? How are satin black wheels to keep clean - are they a pain to keep spotless?

I'm veering towards Metallic Anthracite Gloss.

Any opinions?

Here's the car for reference.

However it doens't last long and is hard to maintain.

They are super glossy when freshly cleaned, but brake dust and normal dirt makes them dull in about 2 journeys.

When you do then come to wash them you get them wet and every bit looks the same shade of wet glossy black, so you can't tell what you've cleaned and what's dirty.

I was sure i'd wiped every inch of mine clean but when i went back to the car a hour later after it had dried i'd missed whole spokes which were still super dirty and dull. Have to resort to wiping them down with a damp cloth.

When i refurb my other set of spiders they'll be a silver colour for sure

Matt black for me so you can't tell lol

I am going to have to say matt black as well. Black wheels really do suit a red car. If you can stand the extra washing of gloss black wheels then go for them. Either way, BLACK !!!

Having just picked up a red VRS I am currently musing over the idea of fitting some white wheels... (http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/167004-red-fabia-white-wheels/)

White wheels can look good but the main problem with them is immediately after you have cleaned them. I will explain. You clean your wheels, they look nice and white and sparkly, you turn round to put your cleaning stuff away, turn back round to admire your work and the b#@$*rds are bloomin dirty again !!!

I'm with you, my previous car had white wheels..

But they still look nice on the furby, and I promise I'll be more careful to avoid puddles! ;)

Yes it is for sale, V5 is now back, and it will be put up properly once I get the rug doctor and steam clean the seats

Saw this one in the alloys archive and thought it looked sweet. Prompted me to do my alloys in the first place, so i'll probably go for gloss black or anthracite :)

Well, the steels are on (195/50 r16's) and the alloys have been dropped at the refurb company. They had some nice gunmetal grey wheels, but I went for gloss black in the end. Picking them up next Saturday. I'll post when they're on.

I actually quite like the steels, but they need a refurb and the car need lowering to do them justice..... though 4 Fabia alloys in the boot helps!

Did you put the guard on te edge of the door? looks dreadful, sorry.

I like steels. giving me ideas looking at cars with steels!
