Well i have a vrs and drive through town and down country lanes im getting 35-40 mpg so i can vouch for that i only imagine this figure will rise doing 60 on the motorway

My vRS has averaged 30.5 over 2200miles. Part urban crawl into Manchester in the morning..part motorway..part A/B road blasts. The urban crawl results in high 20's.

I have tried sticking to 60mph on the motorway and guess mid-high 40's would be possible.70mph would give around 40mpg and enthusiastic blasts down a country lane .. low 20's !! It will go under 20mpg if you are trying hard :D

Only 780 miles in so far and mine is averaging 39.6 if you look at my Fuelly signature. Mixed driving mainly 30-60mph and probably 150 miles ish of 65-75mph.

My average is in the VRS is about 30mpg average, and about 45mpg on the motorway.

ok thats the VRS out as i do 15-20,000 a year and want to have better then my c270cdi which i am getting 36mpg average

how well does the tsi dsg do,

The cr 105hp?

i would like a auto but if i lost over 25% on fuel cost then it is not good

Hi Tony,

I'd take the plunge on a 1.2 TSi DSG Elegance. If you need to use the car to tow anything then get the 1.6 CR 105 manual.

Done the most stupid thing ever, when to see the ibiza and the polo. First impression the ibiza feels tacky and rear head room is limit and you can band your head against car when you get in the back door as the roof is quiet low, Drove a 1.2 TSi DSG wow the engine is beautiful and gearbox amazing i was sold on it, so when to VW local dealer , only polo they do with dsg is 1.4 engine from yesteryear But i love the look and feel of the whole car, at this moment with old 1.4 dsg se spec i am looking at £134300 without sat nav, i can get a 1.2 fabia with tsi and dsg for £12000 with quiet a few extra including sat nav,

So do i wait for VW to lanuch a Diesel or TSi dsg polo, or a diesel DSG fabia. dont mind paying the extra but want the car to be right as we keep it for 5-7years, Will vw do a Diesel DSG polo soon? VAT offer is finish soon aarrrrgggggghhh why did i go into a vw dealer aaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhh

Blimey that's steep! :p

.....So do i wait for VW to lanuch a Diesel or TSi dsg polo, or a diesel DSG fabia......

Life is full of "ifs". When I did the rounds in late Feb 2011, the value for money of the Skoda with 20% off was one opportunity that I did not want to add to my list of missed opportunities.

With the Skoda (1.2TS1, DSG plus lots of extras) I get VW engineering at at price I could afford. I certainly couldn't afford the Polo and I didn't want the 1.4Tsi.

In your case, is it that the Polo body/trim etc is a must have? Or that you don't need the car yet?

Whatever, by Friday, if the Skoda fits the bill, it will be at least £2000 more.
