Done my fronts at the weekend, disassemble, clean off brake dust build up and rust especially on the shims (metal bits between that attach to the carriers that the pads sit in), regrease between carriers and the shims. Also look at the wear on the pads and compare grooves to those on the disc edges, they could be rubbing, if they are you need too file down inner and outer edge of the pad so that it isn't wearing against the disc edges. When fitting the pads remember too grease the parts the calliper will be in contact with. But too do all that to the rears you need a caliper rewind tool.

As Mike says above, to make everything work as it should. Also take a gander at the Handbrake Sticky top of this section, your problem may well lie there.
