Detailed my Superb

Featured Replies

Hopefully the end of a busy old time for me the last of our cars to be spring cleaned. Had to give the leather a good clean as well on this one . Technically this is my car but my wife has seconded it so I barely get a look in now but the truth is I prefer her old Octavia VRS anyway

Its just coming up to its 3rd service at 30k. It has a tough life on the daily commute and is parked next to the railway so contamination and rail dust is a problem

No before shots i'm afraid i was a bit pushed for time and this was a big job the car needed a good polish so had to get out the porter cable

So

Rinsed

Snow foamed

Wheels cleaned with Espuma revolution

Rinsed again

Washed with Megs Gold Class and 2bm

Rinsed again

Bladed off and left to dry

Into the garage then

Clayed with Sonus blue

Dodo juice lime prime applied with the porter cable and lake pad

Wiped down with Megs last touch

Blackfire gloss enchancer polish applied by hand

Sealed with Optiseal (2 coats)

Interior

Windows cleaned with Brillant glass cleaner and then treated with optiseal

Vacced out

Seats cleaned with Zaino z9 leather cleaner and treated with z10

Trim wiped over with APC them treated with 303 protectant (same under the bonnet)

Time taken 8 hours , i'm cream crackerd, I know i havent dressed the tyres but i think it will rain any minute so i'll do them again. Would really reccomend the Blackfire polish , fantastic product great results and easy to use

Very nice Rich - stunning car

Good work and nice car!

Better than your old W210.. No rust!

See now its pics like that that make we wonder if I should have my new Combi in black, but as I've just cleaned my current one (black) and its now covered in dust I think I'm right in avoiding it again.

Looks nice though, how do the Lunas hold up with brake dust and crap, do they have a reasonable laquer coating?

Both my rear wheels have buckled :( Not impressed !!

Lunas are easy to clean but any wheel can be protected properly if polished and waxed , its just that not many people bother

8 hours to wash and hoover a car Rich, :giggle:

Took me an hour to do the wheels and arches properly :):):)

Its the polishing that takes the time though , but you need to put the work in if you want the good results

Nice job. Looks great.

I was pulling yer leg Rich, it takes me anything up to 3 hours to give mine a proper wash, hoover and trim protect/tyres etc, looks nice btw, and you may want to consider the Turtle Wax Extreme Nano Tech tyre dressing, it looks like man fluid but it stays on for ages and resist's water for a few days at a time as well, Halfords sell it, it's about £6 iirc.

I use Swissvax pneu for tyres and rubber , brings tyres up like new but not glossy

8 hours is cutting corners ;)

Capri is about to come out of hibernation from its bubble that blows filtered air over it and that will take me at least a month to get it detailed properly for its first show in June :o

Clean 'em properly once a year and it doesn't take much to stay on top of it throughout the rest of the months.

I wonder if my Superb will come up as good?

Baker21 will have to watch his back :giggle:

Good work

Bump

Cant believe its been a year since the car has been given a good going over , talk about the cobblers kids going barefoot!! Car has now run out of warranty and tipped over the 50,000 mile point as well

Car was in a shocking state though, wheels didnt come clean so will need removing to do properly but i havent got time for that this weekend

Pretty similar regime to last year , wife has changed offices so no rail dust anymore but roads are shocking and tons of tar on the car :(

Machine polished with Blackfire EG again and topped off with Dodo Juice Hard Candy and red mist

Beautiful job on the exterior! Get some new mats, though - makes a world of difference.
